A sucker born every minute

The nonsensical advertising is by design. You can think of it as the guru trimming away people intelligent enough to eventually see a scam for what it is. The people who are drawn further in by the vague cheerleading are the target clientele. Similar to the typos and strange capitalization/grammar in the emails that we all receive from the Nigerian princes (there are so many!).

Best post so far, totally agree.

Reminds me of me. I have posted several trading videos on Youtube about my strategies. Nothing for sale. No mention of "Don't forget to subscribe." Just sharing stuff I have learned in 40+ years of trading.

I play piano. Often I hear people say, "I want to learn to play." I don't think they mean that. What they mean is, "I'like to be able to play." Playing music looks easy. It is. But LEARNING to play music is not easy. I practiced at LEAST an hour every day from the age of 8 to 18. Now, playing is almost automatic. But learning to play was not automatic, and it was not easy.

I think trading is similar. At first, it's a lot of work and very little reward. I traded for 14 years before I had an overall profitable year. I haven't had a single losing year since then. I even made 11% in 2008. If you study now, in a few years, you may be able to relax and let the profits run.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your last comment humbled me. 14 years, thats amazing. I'm just curious, was it 14 years trading the same strategy and volume? Or was it trying different methods/strategies each year to find what niche fits your personality the best?

I'm curious because not many people have 14 years of risk capital, so traders will either paper trade/simulate methods first before risking $$.

Also, you said you made 11% in 2008, was that because you changed your overally strategy? OR because you took advantage of what the market crash presented?

Cheers

That's the main problem of an immigrant culture. People coming from cultures where unethical and immoral values are completely fine and their value system goes completely against the Judeo-Christian value system. I am equally annoyed by those who can't give a damn and shill and cheat and trick and misguide but their existence should not be a surprise. That is why the existence of such people of lower moral mindset is minimal in countries like Japan.

Yes, culture clashes exist when immigrant and indigenous cultures meet. However, your Judeo-Christian value system is chockfull of racists, scammers, degenerates, sexual deviants, and any other contemptible being I can think of.

In my opinion, the evangelical right has a lot to be desired when it comes to morals and ethics.

Judeo-Christian values? Ha! I have seen atheists who have a stronger sense of ethics and moral than a Judeo-Christian.

Idk how these guys keep popping up in my advertisements, but whenever I watch YouTube I got these "get-rich-quick" dream sellers commercials.
  1. Frauds like Jason Bond, Kyle Dennis, , Jeff Bishop (ragingbull.com) Tai Lopez, and of course Tim Sykes.
Did you forget Karen (the Supertrader) Bruton? Barred by the CFTC and SEC from the investment industry for her (and Hope Advisors) misuse of, among other things, options.

Damn, I made this thread over a year ago. Now look, Jason is done! Thank the heavens, those youtube ads were scarred into my membrane

HEY GUYZ & GALZ

Drastic difference, and wouldn't categorize Karen with these schmucks. These guys are professional get-rich-quick scammers. Karen is more methodical, shes in the hedge fund realm, not producing youtube ads on a private jet flashing money looking for 20 year olds to subscribe to their discord.

There's plenty on YouTube with Karen touting her skills and successes as a "Supetrader." For example:
-and-
and on and on.

Not sure about the jet.

Doesn't much matter because in 2019 the SEC barred Bruton for life from associating with any broker, dealer, investment adviser, municipal securities dealer, municipal advisor, transfer agent, or nationally recognized statistical rating organization. And she and Hope Advisors were permanently enjoined “from engaging in or continuing any conduct or practice in connection with . . . the purchase or sale of any security” as well as activity in connection with “an investment adviser.” In other words she's out of the securities business.

I put her on he same list as Madoff, Corzine and the others in this discussion.

Although Tim Sykes is a bit different then the first three, I'm still baffled at how many people must sign up for these scams if they keep popping up on my feed CONSISTENTLY. This is every single day.

Jason Bond and his crew are in my opinion the worst. I can spot a fraud from afar and these guys are horrible salesmen (or are they?). There must be so many sheeple if these guys can throw this much advertisement dollars at YouTube.

Another point I want to make is, these guys give trading a bad rep. I used to boast to my friends about my trading. But I never realized that my view of trading is VASTLY different from the laymen. Most people think of a jerk like Jason Bond when they think trading, they think of get rich quick schemes..

They dont think of hard earned speculation from thousands of hours of studying, backtesting, trading, trial and error, blood and sweat, thousands on commissions and vig just to BREAK-EVEN. Its really a shame man.

I thought I'd rant this to see what you guys think. Do these scammers pop up on your feed? I'm thinking of buying youtubes premium service just to disable and never see there face again.

My thoughts have always been if your a successful trader why bother the time and energy that goes into selling a system. I guess it's extra revenue maybe a genuine love for teaching perhaps. I don't think the world is full of complete charlatans. Some good eggs somewhere in that basket - Alan Eldman Kurt from Option Alphas. That being said i've enjoyed learning over the years from the free content on tastytrade and some on Anton Kreil's videos. I'm perpetually peppered with emails from SJ options. Anyone have any info on them?

I recommend you go to their website http://sjoptions.com/ and read, carefully, all their hype and hyperbole and then consider the $4,999.00 fee they're charging to teach you about the "higher order" greeks including Vomma, Vanna, Veta, Charm, Lambda, Gamma, Ultima.

And then ask yourself whether you really want to learn about those higher order greeks or put your 5 grand into your options trading account and continue to use the free training offered by the likes of tastttrade or thinkorswim or CBOE or CME or OCC, etc.

How about picking a book and reading about how options work? There are good ones for pretty much every level.

I am in a wrong fucking business!
