A Generation Of Sociopaths: How The Baby Boomers Betrayed America

Spoiled? Absolutely, with every generation becoming more spoiled as time has went on. You're conflating too many other issues looking for some way to blame everyone else for the failings of leftist ideology. Bunch of petulant children having a tantrum, all because a lay up election was blown by a piss poor candidate, who as it turns out is a boomer too. The truth is out there. One day you may stumble into it as you're looking in the mirror.

We need to flood the country with millions of muslim immigrants as the Europeans have done in their countries. That way, we will have people who really care about this country, like previous generations. That has worked out so well for the Europeans because the immigrants are soooo interested in preserving the greatness of Britain, Germany, France, etc.

TFT again proves he is incapable of whatabouting off to an unrelated matter when he has nothing of value to say. Self-absorbed in the extreme.

I personally believe that a fair part of the left/right polarization came about because of the effect of a spoiled generation voting only for their own interests. Sociopaths.

Left right is a distraction. Another comment on the book:

""This one is a bit out there and it's very much on purpose. He makes a strong and well researched case that the Baby Boomers have essentially screwed every other generation in the country through the use of their larger numbers and their tendency to vote. They have legislated for their own benefit from the moment they turned 18 and continue to do so today with little regard for others. While I wouldn't call any of the specific Boomers I know a sociopath, their generation has behaved like that many times... A very interesting read. It's not left vs right. It's Boomers vs all other generations... ""

"tendency to vote." is interesting. I guess if if works for you, then you vote.
You're so spoiled you don't even realize just how spoiled you are. Tell me, which generation is demanding 15 bucks an hour for bagging burgers? Who is it that wants a free college education? Which students demand that classes and tests be canceled so they can go protest, but still expect a passing grade? Who throws a tantrum when their kid doesn't get a trophy? I wonder what would happen if Trump said, hey, we need a draft? Boomers endured that. Your generation would be curled up sucking their thumbs. I'd love to see the reaction if your kid tried out for the little league team and was told, nope, you don't make it, try again next year. That how it was when I was a kid, not everyone made the team. Whatever would you do when your smart ass kid received a couple swats at school? Instant meltdown.
You are weak, and you are weak because your boomer parents and grandparents gave you way too much for far too little effort. For that, you can blame the boomers.

I have to agree with the premise, the baby boomer generation totally turned their back on the principles of the greatest generation and it is the cause of the shrinking middle class today.

There are so many examples, but to me the best one is the minimum wage. When boomers began to enter the workforce in 1967 the greatest generation ensured their children had a minimum wage of what would be equivalent to $11 an hour today.

The boomer generation took for granted their inheritance and squandered it.

Yes indeed. I was about to jump into the minimum wage for a start there to answer CaptainObvious.

So you in a roundabout way agree with the premise?

Don't be too quick. For one, 15 isn't 11. For another the minimum did not apply to fast food workers. I worked at McD's in 1968. I made .95 cents an hour.

Yes, I do. Boomers could not, or at least did not do what our parents did, which was to have the balls to say no.

Don’t forget to bring up that over 50% of the workforce was in a union into the 1960s and wages began to decline with diminishing union participation. That’s an important factor.
