Dustin, I second the recommendation to use AdAware from Lavasoft to remove spyware/trojans. Try it -- you may be surprised what you have on your system.
The messages MainFramer is describing is not to be confused with MSN Messenger. This messenger is a seemingly inoccuous text popup dialog box. You can send a message to yourself to see what it looks like by typing:
net send <your computer name> hi!
You can find your computer name by right-clicking the My Computer icon, click properties, and click the network identification tab.
To disable the popup dialog:
Under Control Panel, select Administrative Tools.
Select Services.
Double-click on Messenger.
In the Messenger Properties window, select Stop, then choose Disable as the Startup Type.
Click OK.
