im not slagging Puretick at all, but you are mischaracterizing what they said

they said it was 90% profitable WITH a 40pt stop and a 10pt first target (then a trail stop)

Heres an update.

Over the last 3 months Max Span did about $6,000 of profits. The gap trade (which traders like john carter, LBR do) did about $6,600 using the same amount of contracts. Gap trades for me are a lot harder to sit with. Most traders don't use stops on them.

Day by day things may look very insignificance but if you stick with something for awhile, you'll see its worth.

Any of you guys gap traders?

what is your basis for the claim that most traders don't use stops for gap plays?

you reference carter. both carter and senters have specific stop setups for their gap plays.

as do i.

i don't (personally) know ANY traders who don't set stops with a gap play

(they are my most profitable types of trades btw)

so who is this "most traders" you are referring to?

anybody who makes any TRADE (note: i distinguish trade from investment) without a stop DESERVES to lose money
