At least Cain has a plan just like Paul Ryan has a plan. Like I said, Im not certain of the veracity of anyone's plan, but we have to study these plans and come up with something new versus just keep going with the same old same old. The tax code is a mess.
Suspect there would be exemptions for lower incomes...
1. Non-prepared food
2. Maybe clothes purchased at discount stores
3. Incomes <$40K could submit receipts to get tax refunds?? Yes, the bookkeeping would be a burden.
What America really NEEDS for the good of us all is to become an economic powerhouse once again (and to SLASH government spending, of course). The ONLY way to accomplish that is to attract foreign companies to American shores to do their business and to build their products. Something like Cain's 9-9-9 has the potential for that. The alternative is that we continue down our current path and become a Communist-like economy which fails and bankrupts all but the ruling elite. Would you really choose the latter?
We NEED to give people an incentive to "work hard and keep the majority of what they make"..
Our current policies are the antithesis of that.
