Well, that’s the point. I’d expect Holt/NBC to overplay a point painting Covid as spooky, the need to get vaxxed. It was out of character.

In the grand scheme of things it’s nada, I was just surprised to see Holt report it the way he did.

I haven't watched Holt's clip just your narration of it. In my mind, he's going by the narrative "get scared guys, vaccines aren't working because look at the number of breakout cases", while omitting the fact most travelers are vaxxed so of course the earlier cases will be on the vaxxed.

Now imagine the headlines if Airlines did not require vaccination, we had no restrictions or there's no Covid vaccine...

I don't have any issue with Omicron but I'm worried about it when it starts to move through our not vaccinated population because right now...the Delta Variant is the overwhelming dominant strain in every state of the United States and in every province of Canada.

• The Delta Variant is kicking our asses in the not vaccinated population...causing increasing Hospitalization and Death.

Thus, as a population, we're not very good at following public health guidelines...explained via an actual situation of what happens when public health guidelines are not followed even by those that are fully vaccinated...

My point, there are three key components to a Pandemic in the last two centuries...the virus, vaccination, and the behavior of the people. Vaccinations will never get rid of a Pandemic if we can not solve the behaviors.

It's sad because we had 5 prior historic Pandemics across many centuries to learn from and we're still unable to utilize one very important behavior until the Pandemic is resolved...stay away from sick people.

Correct because Omicron itself could be a Variant of Concern that's only capable of causing a mild illness on its own regardless of vaccination status as I've discussed with you in a prior reply in another thread.

• If that's the case, Omicron will be downgraded in a month or so. This has happened before with prior Variant of Concern.

Yet, we do have one possible link that's currently being studied heavily.

• South Africa (Africa) and it's not vaccinated population.

South Africans in the hospitals are via Omicron which is why scientists are studying the data very heavily to determine if there's a link.

Seriously, if its nada...the data that will come out in a few weeks will show that. Further, you'll then know it's not a big deal that vaccinated people or not vaccinated people catch Omicron.

• It's just a mild illness...running nose, sore throat with a little fatique for 1 - 3 days.

We can then get back to focusing on the unresolved growing problem with something much more pathogenic (deadly). The Delta Variant that's causing increasing Hospitalizations, ICU Admissions, and Death...primarily those that are not vaccinated.

On the flip side, now that you know for a fact that Variants of Concern do mutate...cross your fingers that Omicron is not allowed to spread because if it spreads...it increases the chance of another mutation.

• What happens if that next mutation is something like a Delta Variant or worst...you willing to roll the dice on that ???

P.S. Early data shows that Omicron has picked up some codes from the common cold. It could be one of the reasons why it's only a mild illness right now but no guarantee that it will remain as such in the future if its allowed to spread.

P.S.S. Viruses are sneaky fuckers. A variant will hit you from the front with deadly consequences. Another hits you from the side that's very mild in its attack...a much bigger and deadlier threat is coming from behind after its figure out the strengths in your defenses.

In my opinion, our behavior, can stop the much bigger and deadlier threat...vaccines will only slow it down but not stop it.

The thing is we actually have concern for the effect disinformation spreaders are having globally more than we want to play along with some banter. We have been trapped in having to be a grown up mode for too long and it's going to be another two years as a direct consequence of the addiction to conspiracy crap.

So while many vaccinated players has tested positive and had to miss games,not one player who had covid tested positive a 2nd time and had to miss games twice due to having covid a 2nd time.

Professional sports are not a good source for reinfections considering there's a growing list of them using fake vaccination documents.

Thus, if one of them does become Covid positive and had been so-called vaccinated...there's a good chance it's someone that has never been vaccinated.

Therefore, it's not a breakthrough positive test when in reality they were not vaccinated.

Regardless, when we last talked about this, I personally knew two people that have been reinfected with Covid. I'm expecting Omicron to change that within the next few months...more reinfections and more breakthrough infections.

I recently watched a hospital TV story in Michigan in which many patients were battling their 2nd Covid infections...a few on ventilators. I was shocked that some stated they still will not get vaccinated...one guy was struggling to breathe as if it was his last breadth.
