8 Dead in Texas School Shooting

Universal background checks and closing every loophole is pretty much all we can do apart from removing 2nd amendment (I personally 100% support it). Will it stop mass shooting, of course not, but it should drastically reduce them. If every citizen would have to go through similar process that we have in NYC, people would be thinking twice about each additional fire arm they purchase. As a compromise we can demand concealed carry across all 50 states.

That's all we're asking to even consider, but gun owners be like:

Certainly I get something out of it.
I believe in dialogue and listening to the other side. Sometimes the opposing side in a debate will make a good point.
But more importantly I listen because it’s important to know how hateful and bitter and stupid the other side is becoming. I don’t want to ever be surprised by that.

Again, if they sometimes make a good point, then I am not talking about putting them on ignore. I'm talking about the folks that just troll and argue and never concede any point no matter how salient. The ones that argue disingenuously and plug their hears when you present facts.

Regardless, it was just a discussion. You are certainly able to keep whomever you wish on your screen.

What do you mean "Universal Background Checks"? You already have to have a background check when purchasing a firearm. Closing loopholes, do you even know which loopholes you're talking about? I can name one solid one, but I'm curious to know what you think is a loophole?

Right. We need laws that ensure gun ownership responsibility. This includes registration of all guns, proficiency exams, fitness exams and insurance on all guns.

Those steps will lessen the amount of guns and add a level of safety that guns do not get in the wrong hands. You will see less guns on the street and less mass shootings if people had to treat their guns like their cars.

100% bullshit. The vast majority of crimes with guns are by those who possess guns illegally. These criminals aren't going to suddenly register or insure their guns simply because you put a law in place.

So far, more kids were killed in schools in the US than service members.
This cherry picking of a specific time frame is as ridiculous as saying I made more money this week in stocks than Warren Buffett did, during a week when his stocks were down.
