60 years of socialism has destroyed Europe

Quote from rew:

No it's not. Food, housing, and health care are not human rights, as they can only be guaranteed by stealing them (or the money to pay for them) from somebody else. The Constitution wisely only enumerates rights that do not require that the government act as a thief.
That last sentence makes an excellent quote.

I don't see the destruction of Europe.

At least one difference is that no one in Europe goes to a televangelist for their healthcare!

Quote from Eight:

The US needs a lot of inflation to cure it's headache. I believe it will play out like 20% for a couple of years followed by a year or two of 100%... You can flesh out that scenario for yourself...

The only way inflation will help matters is if wages do not keep pace.

Only problem there is that a majority of middle class households are already struggling to make ends meet with two incomes.

Inflating our way out of this mess will only create another mess...

Quote from rew:

The Constitution wisely only enumerates rights that do not require that the government act as a thief.

Not true.

The government is able to rob us of our wealth because of the lack of a constitutional amendment prohibiting them from borrowing to fund their operation.

Jefferson wanted it, but the greedy bastards were already entrenched and shot it down.

Quote from Lucrum:

NO it's not.

Remember one thing pal, a healthy country is a prosperous country, full of industry, ambition and higher consumption.

:D  :)

Quote from Lucrum:

NO it's not.

Once these guys start with it's a human right, I ask where does it end? If healthcare is a basic human right, then so is food and shelter right? Hell, the right to communication must be a human right as well. Before you know it, all of these "human rights" include housing, food stamps, cell phones.
