4 screens how to fit new ones

I don't understand why you would need so many monitors. But anyway, if you have to buy bigger ones you can split screens and organise your windows within them. You might be able to get your layout with just two monitors that fit on the desk.

It works on Linux Ubuntu as well.

I went through this. I'm 54 and the physical adjustment isn't as bad as you might anticipate, unless you have an upper body disability of some sort. I have 2 27's and a laptop which replaced 4 19's running from a desktop. And all 3 monitors are obviously just like one as far as the mouse is concerned. The ease of use is amazing.

But it does take some adjustment.

With using 2 27" monitors set right in front of you wouldn't you be looking at a space in the middle of them? With a 3 monitor wide setup you have your bigger monitors in the middle, therefore, no space in front of you.

My laptop is on the left, so the 2 27's are side by side. I'll send a screenshot.

The chip in the coffee mug is nostalgic, and I will use that mug forever. The F key settings are old and crinkled like me. The layout will obviously be different tomorrow morning. I live in Wisconsin, but I am scared just enough to want to know what is going on at all times in Ukraine, hence the windows which are up right now. The windows on the left side of the right monitor are from Trade Ideas. I click an alert when it comes through, and it automatically populates one of my Sterling Level 2's, and anything which is linked to it.

In all honesty, though, use whatever monitors you're comfortable with. I'm not showing off. I just like what I have, and I'm sharing. What matters is your ability to focus and trade effectively and profitably. If that means 1 laptop at a Starbucks, then so be it. If it means 6 27's, well, whatever. It took a lot of years and beers and heartache to get here. I just want to give a little back by helping a little. Best to you and yours.

Hi all,

I've gotten used to my 16 year old Dell FP1905 monitors, which are 19x19. 4 of them fit nicely on my desk. But they're getting old and will need replacing soon.

It seems like that size is hard to find nowadays. There are 19x inch height ones, but they tend to be wider. The other typical 22-23 inch ones are too big to accommodate 4 which allows me to have several charts/docs open at once.

Any ideas on what my options are?

If you like "4x, 19" screens... you can buy 2x, 27" UHD monitors and set up in portrait mode. That will give you a 2-by-2 array with 4x, 19" screens. With the UHD resolution, you can adjust the resolution to your liking. You'll need a "dual-port Display Port video card".

If you go this route, be sure the monitor stand is "pedestal type" where the base of the stand is smaller than the monitor is tall. Otherwise you won't be able to fit them close together as the stands will be in the way of each other.

Here's a pic of my monitors... 3x, 27" in portrait mode and 1, 27" in landscape mode.
There are 6x windows in the chart array, each is 19". Notice the width of the pedestal stands.

Good luck.

That doesn't look like a 3 X 27. And is that Alex Jones on the right side? You just put me through a 3 year time warp. Please post a pic of your 3 X27, and at least put a pic of Joe Rogan on the right.

You jolly joker. Of course it's 3x27. (Why would I make that up? What do you think it looks like?) Not Alex Jones but rather some tavern owner dumping all of his Russian vodka into the drain... said it would cost him ~$200.
