Retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Lovell admitted during a House Oversight hearing Thursday that saving the Americans under attack in Benghazi might have been possible, but he added they would never know for sure.
Lovell was in command of the U.S. Africa Command’s headquarters in Germany during the attack, but he has since retired.
Lovell said they looked to the State Department in regards to Libyan authorities and worked to get “situational awareness” of the attack as it unfolded.
“Did they ever tell you to go save the people in Benghazi?” Rep. Jason Chaffetz asked.
“Not to my knowledge, sir,” Lovell replied.
“Four individuals died, sir. We obviously did not respond in time to get there,” Lovell stated.
"Could we have?" Chaffetz asked.
“We may have been able to, but we’ll never know,” Lovell answered.

Thursday at the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing on the Benghazi terrorist attacks, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) became emotional as he was questioning Ret. Air Force Brigadier General Robert Lovell, former US Africom Intelligence Director, if the military did enough to save the people under attack at the U.S. consulate in Libya.

When Chaffetz asked why the military was not sent, Lovell said the operation was conducted in deference to the State Department's directives...
 
as cynical as I am I can not believe what scum the the WH and Clinton and rice and Crowley and CNN were... in light of this testimony.

This is worse than Watergate.

What to make of this:

This is white house pic of what supposedly happened on the night of benghazi as obama was supposedly being advised by his national security team.

potential problem: bob beckel, leftist tv pundit says that he is friends with tim donilon, national security advisor, who is in the pic, and donilon has told him privately that he was not in that night when all this happened. Not there.

The only thing we know for sure is that if anyone in congress actually has the balls to make hay out of this, we'll see beckel 'walk back' his statement in record time.

Who was running the show that night and why. (if it was not obama or clinton)

Its like when Al Haig was "in control" after Reagan got shot.
We never really heard where Bush Sr was... but everyone in D.C. said, at the time, their friend who would know told them said he with a women.
 
There was no abdication of duty by Obama or Clinton. There was no ignored 3am call.

There was no military response possible. If there was, they would have done it.
