Weekly Update for week 29/50 ended 8/3/2012
Moderately positive week, up 1.8K (1.6%). Took out 4K for the month ended 7/31/2012.
For the five weeks ended 8/3/2012, it is a lot of disappointment, losing 14K against a target of +6K. For the next four weeks, target is being set at +4K: it doesn't mean I lot, I know.
To answer some points raised in the journal, yes it is true I have pulled more than 600K since bottoming in Nov 2004. Some of that went for taxes, part went for a good downpayment on a house, some went to fund retirement savings, while some went to augment my salary for family expenses, so at this time no chance I will bring anything more into the trading account. On the purpose of the journal, yes it was to have a record of my journey through the market. It is primarily for me: nice if you enjoy it. I have tried to post though good times and bad. Anybody doing sporadic posting of good days would be a false reflection of reality. To be a coward is not stepping up to post when things are not working, and yes, I would feel I am one if I stopped posting at the worst stage of my draw-down. Of course I am continuing to trade (with all the controls and reduced size in place) because I still feel this is a phase that will pass.

Nice week, up 8K (7.3%). Good collection of winners on small size. Did add back a number of dicretionary strategies that were halted. The key is playing them with the discipline required on small size.
