1976 - 2020 - End of the presidential campaign as most of have known

But overall she did an amazing job of losing an election that she could have easily won.

With her moderate positions it was not easy for her to win.Hillary got fewer votes than Obama in 2008 and 2012.Those fewer votes were blacks and progressives who were called the Bernie Bros who mostly stayed home and some voted for Stein to voice thier displeasure of the moderate Hillary.

There are a large number of blacks and progressive voters who will stay home rather than vote for a centrist democrat. That number is growing as I and millions more are joining that group.Trump did bring some of them out to vote against him but Biden also ran probably the most progressive campaign in history when you at look at all his positions and promises.

Hillary did run a bad campaign but her biggest problem was her moderate positions that kept black and progressive voters home or voting for Stein.

  • Republicans have voted unanimously to end participation in the presidential commission on debates.
  • Democrats signaling moving from Iowa/NH historical first primaries.

Should be interesting next cycle to not have a guaranteed face to face debate. For the record I never felt they were necessary and performance in a debate really has no bearing on fitness for the presidency. Although, they have been venues for historic shifts in the presidential race. Sort of a dog and pony show in my opinion.

If democrats move their first primaries to states that are more “battleground” then it will actually move democrats — and right wingers are going to be in disbelief here — more to the center. My take on this is it is good. Too much liberal weight on the front end of the primary schedule and it doesn’t reflect the makeup of the party.

Anyway, both would be very big moves on their own but we are moving into a new era of campaigning. It should be different than what most of us are accustomed to.
This is great news. The debates were a sham where the moderators were pro- Democrat starting with Jim Lehrer. In addition, the debates were held way too late in the cycle. Let them debate earlier with no moderation.

Hillary was/is a moderate? I'm having trouble controlling my laughter right now.

Romney and Obama were pretty good

Romney had PLENTY on which to attack Obama but didn't*. I always felt that Romney was trying to lose... so of course, their discourse seemed more civil.

*Yet another reason Romney's a POT LICKER!
