This affects Asians too apparently. It also sets the stage for future lawsuits as other devs become emboldened. The worst case scenario is not necessarily a lawsuit victory for DaMore IMO...it's a loss of talent due to Google's "SJW" workplace culture.

You guys got this all wrong. Him saying hey how come I can’t get ahead in this company and what he actually said about women and minorities are two different things.
Every company has a right to protect their “brand” legally. If their brand is we are diverse and inclusive then that’s their brand and they do not have to suffer employees who dissent from the brand openly. If you don’t like French fries and tell the world and your coworkers how bad they are then McDonald’s has every right to fire you.
Now, if this guy was being excluded from promotion or training or some other perk because of his race and gender (which, yes, includes both white and male) then that is discrimination. It doesn’t sound like this guy was complaining about discrimination though in his essay, it sounds like he was complaining about women and immigrants.
Two very different things.
The suit by Damore, filed in Santa Clara, Calif., alleges discrimination by Google against men, people of the “Caucasian race,” and people with perceived conservative political views. The suit says that Google employees who expressed views deviating from the majority at Google on politics or on employment practices, including “diversity hiring policies, bias sensitivity, and social justice,” were “singled out, mistreated, and systematically punished and terminated from Google,” in violation of their legal rights.

No. Your freedom of speech stops when you undermine the brand of your employer.
Possibly but there are a lot of exceptions. If your brand depends on discriminating against white males, you have a problem. You don't have unfettered discretion to retroactively declare innocuous conduct as cause for termination. That is arbitrary and capricious and my understanding is that Kalifornia employment law prohibits arbitrary termination.
Damore never questioned Goog's suicidal diversity commitment. He merely opined that not all gender disparities arise from discrimination. That seems pretty self-evident but GOOG is run by feminist lynch mob.
