18 Reported Dead In El Paso Mass Shooting, Alleged Racist ‘Manifesto’ Posted

Statistics show that 96-98% of mass shootings occur in gun free zones. There won't be very many "good guys with guns" stop shootings like this when they occur in places where they aren't allowed to carry.

I've seen mixed reports about whether or not this shooting occurred in a gun free zone. This Walmart is part of a mall complex, and there are parts of the mall that are definitely considered a gun free zone, but I'm not sure if the Walmart portion of the complex was.

hired security guard in parkland shit his pants and didn't do anything. both El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH are in states with super lax gun laws and I'm sure there are a ton of wannabe mall cops in those states. no "Good guy with a gun" can prevent any mass-shootings. don't be like this delusional asshole:
---By the way, this wouldn't have been as bad if I had been there since I have been packing legal heat for years ---but of course haven't shot anyone. --Haven't needed to defend myself or others yet--

Yes but they have a strong central core family philosophy. For the most part we have broken families, inattentive parents or day care and undisciplined brats.
reasons you are citing above are more reasons to have stricter gun laws. do we want guns in the hands of the kids coming out of broken families??

Believe me, you would be glad if I were there to protect you if this happened to you.

Wife was buying Beyond burgers and sausage at WalMart this morning... got the last two packages. Sitting in the lot reading ET when a bust goes down on priors. Five Reno cops and two perps. I am sitting in the car with the dog on my lap and the Reno Sgt walks up,

"Waiting on family?"

"Yeah, they're at the checkout"

"May I ask if you have any weapons in the vehicle?"

"Sure, I have an STI 2011 in the armrest" (Costa Carry Comp)

"Awesome, can I see it?"

"Sure, hop in"

90% of police work is profiling. They want trained, law-abiding civies with guns as the math all comes down to response-time.
You go to WMT on a Sunday morning? :D

....Wasn't bad a first, got much worse.
Well then there ya go. Seems to be that integrated neighborhoods aren't all that bad, and all white neighborhoods are safe as well. That leaves just one other place now doesn't it? The numbers don't lie. You can add up all the victims of mass shootings like El Paso and that doesn't make a dent compared to inner city crime, and all the gun laws in the world won't stop that.

You're contradicting yourself, not to mention El Paso is amongst the poorest cities and their inner city crime barely reached 20+ last year.

beats church

Desensitizing violence is real. Video games are not the complete answer but they do add to the problem. Military has used it in one form or the other for decades. Imagine what influence it has on very young minds.

Not good.
Well said. I certainly wouldn't "blame" video games, but there has to be something about the desensitization of graphic violence, especially in certain people. I think there are reputable studies that have underscored that. But I'm sure there are studies that 100% disagree too. Like climate change.
