How many Mexicans in your neighborhood, other than landscapers? You thinking about moving to a more "diverse" neighborhood? Just think of all the cultural diversity that could expose your family to, a real growing experience for sure. Perhaps somewhere on the west side of Chicago, get a taste of Black and Hispanic culture. No, you 're not living anywhere near that are you? Can't blame you. Video games do not cause a person with a proclivity to commit violence to then commit said violence! This harkens back to the days of Dungeons and Dragons, when all the parents got into an uproar in the early 80s about it causing their kids to become Satan worshippers!
It harkens back to the days when WASP parents thought that rap lyrics would hurt the children and cause them to become violent offenders because rap music was dark, and had curse words in it! Now we have all these "parental advisory" notices on album covers about explicit language.
It harkens back to the time when cartoon like Tom and Jerry and the Roadrunner/Bugs Bunny were funny. Now they are apparently the opening salvo of leading kids to interminable violent lifestyles.
Don't pull "violent video games" into this, because you have conveniently left out pretty much every TV show and action film out there. What, so THEY have no effect, but video games do?
how would you know that's not the case or I haven't lived under those conditions? Not all of us are afraid of our shadows and of venturing outside the trailer park.
Go look at the facts. Starting with columbine nearly everyone of the shooters were bullied and spent hours playing first person shooting video games. There is definitely a link between the two regardless of your opinion. The issue is there is no sense of detachment as you become the character instead of just controlling one.
How many of these mass murderers didn't play violent video games ?
And if you really think it is ok for a 5 year to play this type of game then your kid likely has already inherited your fucked up mental status as well.

Mass shootings have been going on for a LOT longer than video games have been around. The idea that mass shootings since Columbine has been fueled by violent video games in anecdotal at best.

I don't know. Do you now or have you ever lived in a heavily integrated neighborhood? I have. Gary, IN. Lived there in an area which was 100% white and changed. I lived there during a few years of that change. Wasn't bad a first, got much worse.
Right now today the neighbor to the south of me is a Hispanic man married to a white woman. The neighbor to the north is a white man married to a Hispanic woman. There are four black families within two blocks. Other than that it's mostly white, couple of people from India on the next block. It's a safe and pleasant area. How about you Mr. Multiculturalism?

Well then there ya go. Seems to be that integrated neighborhoods aren't all that bad, and all white neighborhoods are safe as well. That leaves just one other place now doesn't it? The numbers don't lie. You can add up all the victims of mass shootings like El Paso and that doesn't make a dent compared to inner city crime, and all the gun laws in the world won't stop that. Like it or not, it is what it is and until that gets addressed the real killing fields will continue in earnest. Facts aren't racist, they're just facts.
