I read it years ago in one of the many biographical sketches. Most likely C&E News. Just google it. Here is a picture of him proudly showing it off. Don't let it give you any wrong ideas about the value of an education. Pauling spent the rest of his lifetime teaching. In fact he met his wife, who deserved to share his second nobel, while teaching as an undergraduate student at what was then Oregon Agricultural (was it College?) -- anyway that became Oregon State.
Here he is proudly showing off his diploma. You should know by now I don't post stuff that's not verifiable or that I don't label in some way questionable if it is not verifiable . If I have any doubt I'll use weasel words like, "if true" etc. I don't take something that Jackass Trump or Jackass Hannity or Jackass Alex Jones or Jackass Limbaugh has said and paste it all over the internet like it is actually true (or, for that matter, something I read on those Screwball sites like ZH or Fox News or Breitbart.

Thanks for the links/info. I do not undervalue education, school is useless. One of the methods by how I'm having my son consider universities is how they deal with homeschool students. If they just can't be bothered, it's a paper mill. If they have a detailed approach, they are likely to educate you better.
