13 Russian nationals indicted for interfering in US elections

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-still-be-investigating-collusion-with-russia

Friday’s indictment of a St. Petersburg-based “troll farm” and 13 Russian nationals should be seen as a limited slice of a comprehensive investigation, the person said. Mueller’s work is expected to continue for months and also includes examining potential obstruction of justice by Trump, said the person, who requested anonymity to discuss an investigation that is largely confidential.

“Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President. The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong - no collusion!” Trump said on Twitter.

That has yet to be determined. Friday’s indictment should be seen as an effort by Mueller to raise awareness about Russia’s capabilities as the 2018 U.S. elections draw near, the person said.

It’s still possible that Mueller will indict Americans for knowingly helping Russia, the person said.

Could also be FBI 3d chess. If there is in fact "collusion", making these indictments which don't implicate the campaign puts a friendly face on the investigation...."they're going to clear us".

Allowing the investigation to proceed unimpeded

In part. The obvious is also consistent with what you said.

Mueller is still trying to get Trump to testify- while his lawyers are telling him he needs to be careful that Mueller may have already decided to try for an indictment or may not have enough for an indictment and is still fishing so he has everything to lose.

So Mueller needs to be careful about messages and language in other indictments that give any sign of leaning toward anything having to do with Trump because that will only eliminate his last remaining chance of getting a sit-down with Trump. John Dowd, his outside counsel has been around the block on white collar prosecutions and can adequately feel out the situation and advise him. Trumps other- long, term local-yokle family type attorneys there are useless and should be avoided and don't understand white collar crime or the inner working of the justice department. But I am going to agree with your point, Trump needs to be careful about over-reading signals that he thinks are telling him that things don't seem to be pointing in his direction so why not just have a little sit-down and have it over with.

As discussed, Dowd can advise him, and he should leave if Trump does not follow his advice on the overall legal strategy. Simllarly, Paula Jones original attorney left her after he got the original settlement she asked for but then suddenly decided she was going to follow the advice of others who said she should go for more to help "the cause against the Clintons" that had developed. Here attorney said "I am an attorney and get you a good legal settlement. I don't do causes." And he was gone. As it should be. And in the end, Paula Jones had to crawl back to try to get the original offer again when the more grandiose plan fell apart. Can't play that game as easily in criminal law once a jury has spoken.

Doubt it, but maybe, mueller would have to be the worst prosecutor in history, cause any defense lawyer in the world would say "Dont lie about any of these people you were in contact with" So Mueller blew his hand before it started if thats what hes doing. Jem could probably attest, theres no lawyer worth their salt whod give away their witness before they questioned the main target. Mueller's whole goal was to catch Trump on obstruction since we all know collusion aint happening, so how is it advantageous to let Trump see the Witnesses before hand? It doesnt make any sense, it would be the dumbest move in history if Mueller did this first then questioned Trump next....... this is as close to a 100% sign as you will ever see that mueller doesnt have anything on trump.

Seems like the Russians are in Russia, so don't think it matters if they're named

It matters because Mueller is trying to get Trump on obsruction, or purgery...... if any of these guys had anything, hed play his cards close to his chest, and try to question Trump or get him on record before anyone even heard of these people...... it helps it he wants to manipulate trump into purgering himself (something that shouldnt be a tough task. :)

Honestly they've gotta pad the case with some money laundering and tax evasion if the collusion story doesn't pan out and all they got is obstruction.

Back in 2016, I noticed that many of the Agency accounts I had uncovered in my investigation were tweeting pro-Trump content. According to the indictment, one memo distributed by Agency managers instructed employees to “use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump--we support them.)” After an internal Agency review determined that a Facebook page called Secured Borders was not posting enough content critical of Clinton, an order went out saying that “it is imperative to intensify criticizing Hillary Clinton” in future posts.

LOL lets see the texts, and see how important they were to the investigation. This sucks cause im not even a Trump Fan, but im willing to call a spade a spade, Trump aint going anywhere, the media can spin this all they want for 4 years but thwy dont got shit on trump.

My take:

This announcement is political.

Mooler and Rosenstooge are walking this whole thing back (backpeddling) since the Grassely and Nunes memos have come out. They are inline to be prosecuted for involvement with UraniumOne, if not more, and the only way out is to give back the election to the people who duly elected Trump, instead of trying to steal it in a coup, or to continue to try to appease those who maintain the accusations to steal the election by coup. Now they are trying to appease the WH, hoping congress won't call for a special prosecutor to prosecute them.

Too little, too late. I'm all for prosecuting all these people (including Mooler and Rosenstooge) to the full extent of the law...and to apply the law laid down on these Russian trolls to everyone involved in the Steele dossier scandal.

It's a ruse . . . . it's a hoax , it's a witch hunt. Putin said he didn't interfere in our election and I totally believe him.
Now everybody trusts the DOJ , the FBI , Rosenstein , Wapo , Huffpo and New York Times isn't failing anymore.
