No---you're the stupid one. We already have background checks. Guns from private sales and gun shows are not responsible for much crime. In fact, zero mass shootings have been committed by guns purchased at gun shows etc.

Background checks DO prevent SOME people from having a gun that should not. Background checks are not the be all in needed gun regulation.
What was important about background checks to our discussion is that is a part of the way we estimate the amount of guns sold per year. We have no official or true figures on this.
What is important for all of us to understand is that because as a country we can’t even count the guns sold with any precision we have to use background check numbers to estimate the guns sold.
Here is the truth in America: more background checks means more guns in circulation and more guns in circulation means more gun deaths.
