We can only model the world and those in it through our own level of integrity I guess. My country has turned into a "liberal" nightmare, multiculturalism forced on us, some cities 50% foreign yet if you mention it you are a racist.

The political class hate what it means to be British and if the people vote labor back in after destroying the country once they must hate it to.

Labor aren't just a threat to my job they are a threat to the existence of the pound and the economy as a whole, why would I stay in this shithole if it shows no sign of recovering to its former glory when I can buy property anywhere on earth, life is short my friend.

Getting back to the "if X gets elected, I leave", Geneva's prosperity is partly due to french citizens who fled a punitive tax system in France. Despite Switzerland beeing largely germanic, 44 out of the 300 richest swiss residents are french according to a report I just googled and from memory something like 2 out of the top 5 are french.

After the election of Francois Hollande and higher taxes like the prospect of a 75% tax on all income above 1mil (75% on top of other taxes) many french residents fled the country, the most famous beeing Depardieu and Arnaud, the CEO of LVMH. Plenty of large apartments became available in Paris at the same time afaik, although it seems nowadays Belgium might is the main beneficiary of this migration.

It does when the vast majority have absolutely no interest in you're culture what so ever, but they are beside the point to me. If they were the greatest improvement to the UK the people of the UK still had the right to vote on the issue, both the EU and immigration, yet consistently we have been refused a say, politics used as a platform by people like ed to drive their own agendas, policys as critical as immigration driven by the desire to "rub the Right’s nose in diversity"


UK politics are toxic, extremely political correct and now with mugs ready and waiting to be the best friend the EU has ever had, just enough...

I understand what you expressed here. The previous Australian socialist government (which fortunately dismissed the EU's domineering attempts to force their FTT madness on us) has just been thrown out. The newly elected conservatives quickly appointed a 3-star operational general to turn back illegal fee paying immigrants in multiple thousands who were using people smugglers captaining Indonesian boats ferrying border-busting economically motivated Middle Eastern and sub-continent destination-seekers under assylum seeking pretence. These illegals have been gaining free access to our courts, free prioritised housing, medical etc. then establishing divisive cultures and even subversive practices using religious extremism in the style that has the potential to do to us exactly what has been done to previously peaceful UK, Holland and elsewhere.

I fully understand your despair and why you say you would leave under certain circumstances. That's a natural reaction. In frank moments, you should not be pilloried for democratically expressing the thought that leaving one country for another is a possible answer to a worsening economic/social situation and a need to keep your job in the financial sector. It is not easy to get permanent residency in Australia (unless under the previous socialist regime you were an illegal forcing your way in without papers, no hope of a job and with 10 needy kids in tow), but the stop light is now switched on. We are the (teetering) last outpost.

The FTT is an extension of everything that is wrong with socialist zealotry.

It is sinister, it is devised and promoted on political/ideological grounds and has nothing to do with the wellbeing of citizenry.

Of all the aspects that are undeniably reckless and potentially economically damaging about the EU's FTT obsessive determination to force an oversized elephant through the eye of a needle, the EU's dictatorial cabal's decision to deliberately, unrelentingly deceive masses of under-informed, easily led citizens is the most sinister and dangerous act of financial aggression to have been pursued, and even worse that they tried it beyond their own borders.

Millions of people previously fled European countries in search of a better life. Matters have seriously regressed (again) when we read sadly similar statement to yours being increasingly repeated in many and various forums.

So that migration had nothing to do with seeking a better life in terms of personal freedom, equality and hope for the future, a better financial situation? What was this better life that the European migrants were seeking, which is different from the current lot of Asian and Middle Eastern migrants? What exactly is the difference between these two waves of migration?

Are you old enough to remember the £10 assisted passage (the Ten Pound Poms) and the White Australia Policy?

from a different perspective, under socialism the natives of the country where immigrants are headed to don't see the pie getting bigger. therefore the resentment is much greater than it was before.

I don't think you are entirely off topic. The FTT is as relevant to Sheda's comment as mine.

I am familiar with the history of ending the poorly named White Australia Policy which was largely an English speaking test, just as I am familiar with the joyful freeing of non-white Americans from slavery and the end of racial discrimination.

Those who fled Europe looking for a better life didn’t occupy their time studying how-to-make bombs manuals; they were not figuring out how to blow up the 100,000 sporting fans at Melbourne’s MCG; they were not plotting 9/11. They were not busy maiming and killing innocents running the Boston Marathon or shooting up innocents in a Kenyan shopping mall. They were not busy planting bombs in the London underground rail system.

As a result of earlier European nation-building immigrants looking for a better, safer life, our jails did not contain newcomers convicted for crimes emanating from extremely dissimilar religious beliefs, divisive cultures and ambitions of implementing religious-based laws.

I could show you some covertly acquired pictures of Middle Eastern “assylum seeking” arrivals displaying particular symbols of a vastly different category of individuals than the people who left Europe to help build this nation during the 1940’s onwards. But this is not the forum for that inspection.

The point that brought my thoughts here is that I understand Sheda’s despair. I acknowledge the global damage that can be wrought by foreign dictators of questionable ilk.

You have expressed yourself eloquently, there is no need for further explanation.

You are however generalizing about the threat. Not every Italian immigrant to America was a member of the mafia, so if one had said the problem with Italian immigration was they were gangsters, it would have been wrong.

I am not oblivious to the extremist threat we face today. Further, I am happy to go on the record that in my view, immigrants should adopt the culture and values of the country they emigrate to. Settling in another country and expecting the locals to adapt to the immigrant's customs is a bit like my going to a Muslim home for dinner and saying I love pork, I hope we will have some for dinner tonight.
