1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

This guy for the tax summed it up...the gubernment DOESN'T need the revenue for jobs, etc, it is to KILL traders and capitalism...IT'S A F*CKING AGENDA OF THE SOCIALIST!!!

THESE GUYS CANNOT USE A CALCULATOR!!

Well I was pretty disappointed with how that went, atleast Larry was there to ask some questions. I am not sure if that helped the cause at all. They are pitting a trader against and Economist, thats a tough one.

This is another good one from Scott's blog replies that questions whether it should even be called a tax. The new name there is nice. Also the penalty theme with a touch of middle class theme.

"It's not a tax. It's a PARTICIPATION FEE. They want to fine you for participating in the markets. It has nothing to do with what you earn on a trade. Even if you LOSE MONEY on an investment, you still get penalized for investing in the USA stock market."
uhm I've said that 30 pages ago on this thread. And Fee is NOT the right term. FINE is better because it shows it to be punative.

You gotta emphasize its penalty. I just heard Geithner no longer opposes the tax. Anyone worried yet?

These insane Leftist nutball "economists" are totally clueless about economics, yet CNBC keeps giving them forums to spout their drivel. I am sick to death of this sh*t.

This market is tanking because of this tax! It did last afternoon when we heard it being introduced officially...now we have Geitner maybe wanting it.

Markets will be down 30%+ if this gets enacted...and guess what....wall street is SELLING HARD and will DO to get the point across!!!

SO SELL!

Where are you guys hearing Geithner is for the tax? I thought it said no to the tax on Fox Business yesterday?

Please advise,
