    Opportunity to short gold

Not if it breaks the head and shoulders neckline in a daily chart. It's testing the neckline. If it doesn't break, I would expect much higher prices in gold.

    YM daytrade beginner advice

The Mini-Dow is very liquid during the day. However, at night the US futures lose their liquidity. I suggest maybe trading the Nikkei or the DAX at night.

    Stop Losses are for Losers

Stop loss orders are used to remove emotion from your trades. They are also a good idea if you are trading something that is highly leveraged. If you know your technical analysis you should be able to pick a good place for a stop based on how long you plan to hold the trade. (Position, daytrade)

    Pyramiding/Adding to a trade

We recommend pyramiding. If you're on the winning side, add to your position. Pyramiding out of a trade sometimes works, but usually, we use technical analysis and liquidate everything on the way out. Either that our use trailing stops to eliminate emotion and get stopped out automatically...

Why do traders fail: some random thoughts

The main reason traders fail is due to emotion. Not cutting their losers short and not letting their profits run. That's why people when they start trading shouldn't just jump in with both feet. It is a good idea to work with a broker for atleast a couple of months so you can get help with...

It's their job to come out and say that the economy isn't going to enter a recession. What doy ou think would happen to the markets if they came out and said our economy is doomed in the near-term.

are the movements of futures more violent than the stocks

Futures, per say, do not necessarily move a lot more than securities. In fact, the DOW and S&P futures tend to move in a pretty close tandem. The big difference is the leverage associated with futures. In futures, you may be able to control $100,000 worth of a currency by posting a mere...

    Best Platform to trade Eminis

We find J-Trader to be very fast and reliable. As long as your broker restricts the number of users per server as recommended, the servers don't get overloaded and everything works well. For CQG quote subscribers, CQG Otto is a great platform as well. Check out...
