how would you play this? breakout / pullback / other?

The upper line is parallel, so it shouldn't be considered a rising wedge or triangle... no?

how would you play this? breakout / pullback / other?

I agree, today isn't an entry point. i'll rephrase my question: given this chart, do u find any interest to trade it should X happen? would you have traded it long or short prior to today?

Awesome answer. educate me! where would you have bought it? i admit i WAS tempted to get it when it bounced of the triangle trend line, but hesitated. was that your chosen point of entry?

I'm shopping for opinions / insights. I do not intend to trade it with real $$$, so feel free to be objective, no repercussions will ensue. given the triangle above, should it break to the upside, what the best risk/reward move? Don't think it a long play at all? i wanna hear! lemme have it all...

I'm with you on the retail sentiment. not that i consider myself knowledgeable about what exactly you mean (please elaborate!) but when i managed retail clients, i remember that when they were all terrified, it was a good time to buy, and when they got greedy... the other way around. And...

I've seen the top of 2007 as i started my career in the capital markets. I've witnessed the meltdown that followed and the years that came after.buy and hold strategy is misleading at times. given the market current highs, a buy and hold may generate in the future an annual return which may be...

well, the RSI and MA's were just there, i didn't take them into account for that trade, they're part of my default setup.... And regarding backtesting - i only heard about this concept in this thread :S newb, as i said.

i'm guessing it's an unpopular opinion, yet it is deep. i've been managing portfolios and preached the same idea to my clients. (well, buy and hold) it IS a high % chance of win, no doubt, for longer terms. but, i feel there must be a way to "outsmart" this. working in caital markets (in Israel...
