Alright, let's talk about volume at S/R points (chart)

As mentioned in the first post, it's a 5,000 volume ES chart. The volume is being pulled from a 1 second ES chart.

Alright, let's talk about volume at S/R points (chart)

This code is not displaying the volume as expected. I have two 5000 volume ES charts up and they are showing the overlay at completely different positions. Therefore, that chart I posted in the first post might not be accurate. I will see if I can figure out the problem and post an update...

Alright, let's talk about volume at S/R points (chart)

So people are saying that volume can lend some clues to what price is going to do next. They say you should watch the Time and Sales to see where the big orders are coming in. Since it's hard to post about Time and Sales in real time, and you can't really view it after the fact, I've tried...

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

Did you copy and paste those links from text? None of them work except for nobsdaytrading because they all have "..." in the middle of them.

    I ninja edited my post.

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

I made a DOM and T&S thread but still do not understand most of what was said in it other than price goes where the volume (open orders) is, but after watching the DOM for a while that seems like it happens sometimes but not always. When it does happen it's usually only for a few seconds or so...

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

Now let's get back to the discussion at hand. Price can only do 6 things. Are all price patterns just after the fact identifications of combinations of these 6 things? Price makes a HH, a HL, and another HH. It's now retracing but still above the previous HL. Should you get ready to...

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

"Gurus" always trying to blame the student. If I can't learn from someone because they're a bad teacher or because I'm a bad student, the outcome for me is the same. Trading (and kung fu movies) seems to be the only place where people don't answer with specifics. Well, and certain...

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

jh I'm afraid I don't understand what you're saying, and you used some terms without defining them first. Can you post some real time examples to help illustrate what you're saying? I can take all the after the fact charts and show where the tops and bottoms were, and sometimes I can even...

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

If someone cannot give you a specific answer to a specific question, it means one of the following: 1) they are BSing you 2) they are unable to explain in a way you can understand (this happens sometimes) 3) they don't want to teach you In all 3 cases, they aren't someone you can learn...

Actually, with trading "gurus" you usually get less than you pay for... because you paid for something and got nothing.

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

I know trend followers usually lose. Sounds like they're just randomly entering. I mean think about it, random entry should be at least 50%, right? So if you're doing less than 50% that's worse than random. I'm not saying every trade has to be a winner, but it sounds like they have poor...

Where do the price action trends change on this chart?

Why does your box from 5-6 go higher than the high? It also sounds like you're saying don't buy a retracement that retraces more than 50% because that's likely to be a reversal rather than just a retracement. Don't tell the Fibonacci people that :p

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

I mean technically it's a LL after price retraces a certain amount, but do you have a way of knowing if the retracement is going to continue vs go back down and make a HL, DB, or LL?

What? I've had multiple journals for years here.

Are all price patterns the same? (examples)

Before I get to that part I need to figure out how to know when it is actually a high or low, when a reversal ends vs continuing. It all just seems to random to me in real time. Patterns even appear in randomly generated data. Look at all those S and R points! Higher highs and higher lows...
