The info in question is stored in CHARTS.INI file in QT folder. You can back that up. However, it really should not be getting lost, even on a crash unless the file gets corrupted when the computer crashes. If running Windows 2000 or XP, make sure the file system is NTFS - its more resilient to...

I know I mentioned it a few time on various message boards (you aren't the first one to ask ) Basically, we make money from registrations, affiliate arrangements with datafeed vendors, brokers, etc, licensing and advertisement. The ads used to be a huge revenue source. So much so that when...

Multiple monitors are ot a problem. QT does not use an MDI interface (main container window with other windows inside it), so any QT windows (charts, Level II, etc) can be placed anywhere on the screen(s), regardless of which monitor its on. QT remembers window positions on the various monitors...

easyrider, note that you can visually set the range as well by holding down the CNTRL key and then clicking on the Y Scale and moving the mouse up/down

it sounds like you selected absolute scale instead of sliding scale. Are you using the 3.5.8e version? If so, right click on the Y axis scale, select "Sliding Window..." and specify the range that you want ... 10 points for example, and click OK.

But that is what Sliding Scale in QT is! You specify the range and it slides up/down as needed

easyrider, how is that different from the Sliding Scale option in QuoteTracker?

easyrider, 1) thats why we said that this is just the first draft. 2) Maybe I am missing something but Sliding Scale sounds like exactly what you are referring to. The range is fixed. As the price moves, the range is shifted so the price is within the range. 3) Absolute scale - I...

We just added a trading API which would allow others to implement the user interface for this (IB or other brokers). Once we have that fully implemented for all brokers, we will look at doing things like order baskets.

Yes, I understand that, but thats too high level. What Mike was asking was what specific mechanism is wanted for actually making the adjustments to the scale.

I was not referring to the QuoteTracker Portfolio window. I was referring to the Account Info panel that shows positions/balances. Intraday P&L is reported there straight from the broker. (what is available would depend on the broker)

No need to apologize. My skin isn't that thin :) one scaling option we were considering is the fixed X axis scale. Frankly, the Y axis scaling issue discussed here has been very rarely requested. Don't know why its such a hot topic here all of a sudden

reiehaxm, I hardly think adding multiple timeframe support, trading API, and all the other stuff we have done recently is eye candy for screenshots on the site. What you consider an essential feature, someone else thinks of as a major annoyance (and vice versa). All YOU need may be...

Actually, depending on the broker, QT will have real-time P&L info on the Account Infopanel - Balances and/or on the Positions. For example, with MB Trading. And I would have thought that the way QT's transaction panel is designed where you can have the price field pegged to bid/ask/last, it...
