I don't know. They are just as active in stocks threads, I've seen quite some fights there. Doubt those people searched for forex to discuss stocks.

Yea, will be great to see result of your work when it's published as you mentioned the book in the 1st incarnation of your thread.

Surf, that is simply not so. Forex area has generally less traffic on ET. If you notice I barely participated it even when traded currencies myself. Guess why? Not much discussion there at all, simply no traffic. Most epic battles and arguments occurred in your journal, several TA threads etc...

Yes, those microscopic nuances may affect trader's behavior quite a lot. I remember Denise Shull posted an article on colors used by traders in their software and recommended avoiding the red color, because it subconsciously increases stress. Unfortunately, not enough attention is paid to...

Probably three factors: 1) General. I still remember a movie "Trading Places", which I watched as a kid and which probably influenced my career choice in future. It showed some scumbags too, yes, but it was all positive, not anywhere near the modern movies, which draw the industry in very...

Probably you are right. But I seriously doubt there are edges in this business, which are absolutely reliable and at the same time able to generate good consistent alpha.

A Fund vs. Your Own Money

Sure, neither I have intention to start a fight and myself strongly advocate use of strict position management in the form of cutting open losses as short as possible. Talking more of the typical crowd mentality here (and the mentality of many Wall St. professionals, which turned out to be...

I have no intention to fool anyone. Neither correct your interpretation. I also believe in numbers (statistics), which doesn't lie. And I would lie if I say market has no inertia patterns, which provide statistical edge. The existence of this edge is perfectly logical, because collective mind...

A beautiful human mind! :) It is very interesting how perception is different among people and the borderline between the productive perception, which can be transformed into the practical skill and perception, which forever stays purely theoretical leading to nothing but even more confusion...

...but you want me to explain you every nuance of how I trade? :D I told you inertia exists and can be measured, never promised to teach you how exactly it's done. :) Also this is psychological thread, not TA related directly.

That's off topic. I don't want to saturate Maestro's thread with irrelevant matters. PM me if you want and I'll drop you the chart.

Yes I do trade and just had a successful "inertia" trade called in real-time. And I stand on the position that TA does provide the tool set to gauge market inertia with enough probability to deliver consistent positive alpha. If you can't do it, you may keep rationalizing that 1% hedge funds...

Easily: if you jump on the running wagon, which has enough inertia, it delivers you where you want. :) And you are only late if the wagon doesn't have enough inertia anymore. TA is the tool to measure market inertia. By far not perfect due to obvious lack of inputs besides past...

    Intuition Amplifiers 2

Not at all. Late is relative. You are only late if you are one of the last participants in the move. If there are more to follow after you enter, you are not late, but just in time, doesn't matter how much of the previous price excursion you've "missed". "Missed" is much an illusion really...

    Intuition Amplifiers 2

That is exactly the base of my confidence in TA: market inertia in the sense of psychological inertia. What's interesting is that psychological inertia can probably be related to computer trading algos as well, because they are still designed by humans who construct them based on human logic and...
