Elite posting rate plunges

Quote from marketsurfer:

There is some serious hate in the markets right now

I think failed_trad3r said it best:

"Bernanke is ruining peoples' trading accounts!"

Quote from marketsurfer:

Man, elite trader posting rate has plummeted--- what on earth happened here? What use to be a great site for traders has been reduced to rednecks challenging peaceful folks to fights, name calling and cursing. It seems to have happened overnight. Was it the frightening avatars posted that gave some users the bully illusion? Is it the forex threads that have attracted all the trouble? What gives and what can we do to renew elitetrader back to its former glory?

In addition, the number of quality folks i have met on here has plunged this year---- now it seems to be all forexbastard type losers who are slinging mud at anything that they feel may be successful. While I have met several decent folks this year, overall the signal to noise ratio has plunged to nearly non existent.

It's sad to see the decline.

ET's volume nose dived the day they let this SOB come back. If Baron wants a turn-around then Surf needs the ax.

You ARE that magician guy aren't you?

lol, he's back at it again? Can't get enough attention so he's lining up the sock puppets to respond to his threads...

Seriously, somebody ban his ass again. It amazes me the lengths this turd will go to just to try and claim some fleeting sense of purpose on this site.

Quote from R. Raskolnikov:

Surf is such a "productive" and important member here that he/she starts a thread in one place and it ends up in chit chat.

:D

trading in general is no longer funny.
95% of volume done by robots, so even the best of them can't really score big...
get ready for more central bank/gov holding most markets by the balls and volatility to slowly die...
Baron should sell this declining board for $6m and start something new.

micro loans for example. traders are likely to be the first to borrow $100 at 2% per month!

Do you or any one of alias's on the thread want to bet $500 paypal on it? Come on, I challenge you-- put yer money where your mouth is.

Probably three factors:

1) General. I still remember a movie "Trading Places", which I watched as a kid and which probably influenced my career choice in future. It showed some scumbags too, yes, but it was all positive, not anywhere near the modern movies, which draw the industry in very gloomy colors. Trading is not a bright dream in the consciousness of the masses anymore, maybe still, but to a lesser degree. It's almost a crime now. Sad.

2) Local. People come to trading forums to learn something mostly. Professionals may come to communicate with each other. Both sides benefit in a healthy environment, but not in environment full of negativity and trolls, which ET sadly has turned into.

3) General dilution of Internet audience. Simply more online resources appear. Some are worse, some are better, but each of them has some traffic, often leaking from other resources. Owners of "donor" resources may fight against it, but process won't stop unless there's something really unique about your resource that keeps people coming back here. So far ET still has it, but it's fading away.

I consider #2 the most important point if you ask me. Most people want to trade to make money. Tabloid format does not help this goal. Just the opposite.

All likely true, but on this site, there is a clear pattern of the forex threads attracting the trolls, who once seeing the success of the others that they lack, move from thread to thread causing trouble.
Forex is nectar for the trolls, eliminate Forex threads, eliminate most trolls.

In addition, the hatred of success in general is super high in this business, particularly from those who never recd a taste.

Surf, that is simply not so. Forex area has generally less traffic on ET. If you notice I barely participated it even when traded currencies myself. Guess why? Not much discussion there at all, simply no traffic. Most epic battles and arguments occurred in your journal, several TA threads etc. Don't recall a single battle in FX area of ET.
