Free Historical Price Data for Futures

Premiumdata.net is one of the cheaper providers but they provide full history (not just linked history) for a fairly low price. I use them and Pinnacle. Both are decent although I wish pinnacle could post their file at the same time every night.

    Good EOD price Source

Chuck, If you have any sway with the web site designers, please make the website easier to figure out. Is what the poster above stated true -- you can only view the data in charts but can't use it in other apps or export it? Does the available data follow the standard chart on the...

    Good EOD price Source

Chuck it says $35 for all regions and $25 for one region. You say $25 for all. Which is right (I hope it's you!):D

    OpenECry Clearing Error???

On Thursday night I was unable to enter a stop order for Canola (I posted about that earlier -- search for other posts/bitch sessions by SideShowBob). Friday morning I was able to enter the order, so I chalked it up to some kind of after hours glitch. Then the stop price hit. And I got a...

    Canola Futures ???

The error fixed itself this morning, I assume it was an OEC error as I also couldn't enter another order. Note to self - don't enter orders when OEC doesn't feel like accepting them.

    Canola Futures ???

I'm trying to enter a canola trade (don't ask!) and getting an error "bad stop price". The OEC guy on chat ignored me, so I'm hoping either of the two canola traders will see this and let me know what that error means. I'm guessing it has to do with my stop price being more than 12 points from...

    Wanted: Suri Duddella's book

Have you considered letting your credit card do the work for you and just purchase it from him directly? He obviously put a lot of effort into his book, why try to save a few dollars on an after-market copy and deny him the funds that could lead to him writing another book?

Best way to play a long term currency trade

Can anyone suggest a good way to play a longer term Euro short (long dollar)? Obviously there's the euro/usd futures and the futures options on them, but are there more exotic ways that can be used? SSB

Courtesy of TradeStation Securities Inc - conducting unauthorized trading in your acc

I don't doubt it, can you please clarify for us slower folks from Pennsyltuckey? :D Nothing that tradestation does will surprise me, I remember them telling me they offer daytrade futures margins but they're not built into their tradestation software, you get them but can't see your real buying...

    Pinnacle Data

Check out premiumdata.net as well. I use them and Pinnacle. Premiumdata.net has additional contracts not covered by pinnacle, plus they are significantly cheaper. But their full history is not quite as extensive as pinnacle (for example I think corn goes back to 1970 with premiumdata and 1959...

Courtesy of TradeStation Securities Inc - conducting unauthorized trading in your acc

I'm not defending them (or you) but what would have happened if they didn't exit your positions and if you didn't exit (which they can't be sure you'll do)? Would you be taking delivery? IB will definitely liquidate you although they will give you a 1 day warning to close it out. SSB

Openecry purchased by Optionsxpress -- uh oh?

You're right, someone's concern about an issue is always directly linked to when they find out. So does this mean you didn't care when you found out that the midget down the street has been banging your wife because they've been doing it for 5 years????

Openecry purchased by Optionsxpress -- uh oh?

As an openecry customer should I be worried about the purchase of OEC by optionsxpress? Will they leave OEC alone or will they try to integrate customers and drive us all away?

    Brokers offering futures in IRAs

They look to be all electronic though -- do they offer pits? In most cases you can simulate the pits by using electronic trading but unfortunately I've found sometime the electronic contracts are more volatile, taking out stops that are not hit in the actual pit.

    Brokers offering futures in IRAs

I know Interactive Brokers and Tradestation offer futures trading in IRAs. Is anyone aware of other futures brokers offering IRA accounts, specifically those which will allow trading in pit contracts (mainly CBOT and CME)? SSB

    Mugged by Interactive Brokers!!!

Maybe in your account  I've taken both sides of the argument (depending on the argument). Always taking one side of an argument (per your comments) without regard to the argument itself smacks of the American political debate    Anyway, see my next...
