If it was not a trade planned well in advance it was not sensible. Hunch trades will absolutely kill you.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this point. Humans may try to predict using a computer but the computer itself is only capable of reading signals and acting on them. I suppose the next question is can a human become a computer?

Did Deep Blue predict what Kasparov was going to do or simply take the best move available in its memory? If you are familiar with your opponent you will probably try to predict what he will do but that is not the only way to play the game.
