What are some Basic Strategies that have Worked for You?

Thanks for the post. I read the article and the thread but hope that this thread can get more detailed than that. Less "what options are and how they work" and more "these strategies have worked best for me".

What are some Basic Strategies that have Worked for You?

Can someone point me in the right direction of successful options trading? This is asked in terms of speculation and not so much as hedging tools. Im not asking for anyone's "holy grail" whatever that even is...more so just some basic ideas that you personally feel are the best way to go. Do...

Why The **** Didn't You Buy TSLA Puts?

Who could have foreseen the huge spike in price this week towards $1000...nobody that's who. So not getting rich off of calls is understandable IMO. But the fact that I sat here in absolute conviction that it was a crazy bubble bound to pop any moment and didn't buy puts is unforgivable. To...

Am I a Fool For Wanting To Be a Speculator?

I’m a member of WSB and love it but man that place is more toxic than anything. That is exactly the style of trading I need to stay away from as it is basically degenerate gambling 90% of the time. edit: I do appreciate your help and comments though.

Am I a Fool For Wanting To Be a Speculator?

The more I meditate on this the more i feel that I tried to convince myself that being a speculator would be a meaningful life pursuit...when in reality i think that deep down I hoped it would be an expedient path to wealth. Now that my bubble of naivety has been popped I see what an absurd...

Am I a Fool For Wanting To Be a Speculator?

I appreciate all of the input everyone and although i am not going to reply to each comment i am reading them all taking them into consideration. Ill say a few things that can address some questions/comments. 1. I was obviously very naive...but I don't want to give the impression that I was...

Am I a Fool For Wanting To Be a Speculator?

example being that I was buying and selling cars as soon as I was 16 and had my dealers license when I was 18 years old to go to private vehicle auctions. I have done some type of buying and selling for a profit whether it be a vehicles or whatever most of my life. the biggest difference is...

Am I a Fool For Wanting To Be a Speculator?

No man I didn’t. I was 100% convinced going in that it would work out for me. I have traded physical goods successfully my entire adult life that I felt this was a natural progression to success...admittedly my naivety got the better of me.

Am I a Fool For Wanting To Be a Speculator?

I really don't want this to be another "trading is a waste of time thread" but more of a reflection on my experience while looking for honest opinions. Results are everything and Circumstances reveal you to yourself... - In 2019 I was unemployed and decided to pursue my dreams of being a...

When do you admit you are wrong?

i cant speak for experienced traders but as an inexperienced options trader i prefer not to have a stop. Usually exit my losers immediately after uttering the words "fuck this".
