    Hershey's Equity thread

I've been doing a little chart surfing, and have noticed that these super high volume days often act as strong support/resistance when used in support of other chart characteristics, and can often lead to strong new trends.

    Hershey's Equity thread

Jack, I've tried scanning but I get 100's of results. My criteria, >$10 a share, 250% volume increase, and avg volume >200k. What do I do to shorten the list?

OK, I'll play. I did a screen for stocks over $10 and >100% volume increase. Sorted by volume, left with 6 stocks over 200k volume. They are in order by descending volume: SGP, SIE, PPH, HOC, KFS, and EIP. EDIT: I was reading the volume wrong. Had to adjust volume change to 50% to get...

Yeah that is what I was thinking. In this case I didn't enter until the pivot/low of day had been broken. Thanks

I have a question: How do you handle it when a great candlestick pattern is forming on the 5-min ES, but it is only 2 or 3 minutes into the bar? For example, the 10AM bar on the ES. It was forming a great bearish engulfing, but the bar wasn't closed yet. By the time the bar closed you missed...

Not a bad day today, finished up about $100. I am really starting to develope confidence in my exit tecniques, still jumping the gun, would have made a few hundred more if I stuck to my system. Learned an important lesson today. I feel like I am progressing huge amounts every day in my...

How much profit makes daytrading worth it (as your only job)?

But to answer the original Q, I would like to have at least 100k in my account before I considered full time, and would need to make at least 3k a month. Wouldn't do it unless I had a few months worth of expenses in a savings account as well.

How much profit makes daytrading worth it (as your only job)?

I have a degree and got offered a job at 40k right out of college. I turned it down to work for $8 an hour and try and make it as a trader while I pursue my ski bum career. Opportunity cost, baby.

Yeah I check my news calendar every morning, but forgot about it today. Can't be doing that too often. Had an excellent morning, no specifics but the comeback is chugging along nicely. I've made some great improvements since my crash n' burn. Yesterday I reread some of the Stochastic...

Just had MACD crossover, I was already short due to some candlestick formations, but it is nice to have some extra confirmation. Am I reading this right here?(going short I mean)

Well I guess this is the kind of stuff I have to get used to after labor day.(moving markets that is) sat most of this one out, thinking it should reverse soon. Volume should have been a clue it was for real. Anyways, no harm in sitting it out. Looking for a 10AM blowoff reversal.

    The Stochastic Indicator

OK I am posting again. I was puzzled by all the people in support of Jack, so I went back and started reading the thread again. You know what? The stuff makes sense this time around. I think my trading has progressed to the point where I understand market sequences better, and this is all...

One thing I have been doing is tracking the ES a lot more. I am mainly trading the YM right now, but I take my signals off the ES most of the time. I wait for the ES to break some serious resistance or make a big reversal bar and then enter on the YM. I have found this to eliminate a lot of...

Not a bad day today, was a little negative in the chop this morning, had a good trade in the PM, ended up -$5 after commish. Porgie, sorry if it seems like I am gambling, but I am not. I am becoming a better trader every day and am taking this very seriously. If I wanted to gamble I would...

I would like to apologize for disrupting this thread. While I may not agree with Jack, or agree with everything he says, that doesn't give me the right to ridicule him. He seems to click with many people. I apologize to Jack, and to all the people that have gotten something out of this...
