I took my loss on GOOG like a woman:D and I do hope if coach pursues the B-fly he will start a new thread...it would be easier to follow....I was very close to really understanding it then it slipped away:confused: but I'm thinking of expanding my calendars to double diag if and when I get...

I try to remind myself all the time...it still doesn't work...and I was so proud that I had not done anything stupid for a whole 6 weeks of the new year!

SHLD... rolled the Feb 115 to Mar 120 at 5.10 leaving a diag for my June 115 and cal for June 120...reason...stock could go up in Mar at least enough to justify the upward roll have reduced debt now to 1.70 for the 115's and 4.05 for the 120's with two rolls left. ATE my loss on Goog...

    Anyone read thestreet.com's option alert?

I do resent the implication that I or Liulala are newby's....I've probably been investing longer than you have been living. I do think I am as smart and as good as Steve or Coach or you but I believe in evaluating any and all advise in terms of how it will enable ME to make money in MY own...

    Calendar Spreads

I think your right...most traders seem to put calendar's in the "neutral" corner. If they are bullish or bearish then the puts and calls are much better.

    Calendar Spreads

That is certainly not bad at all. I've been trying to figure out how much SHOULD a calendar make...are we looking for 50% 100% return on investment? What I do like about calendar's is that you can whittle down the debt therefore in general they are smaller risk...but unless you take a...

    Calendar Spreads

What I realized is that I really had not thought thru my exit strategy on these calendar spreads...oops! However in my defense by definition a simple vertical spread max risk/reward is defined from the beginning whereas in a cal spread only the risk is defined. I've done a bit reading and much...

    Anyone read thestreet.com's option alert?

Why not? If someone will buy them:) If ppl arn't successful then they won't subscribe. I did a brief free trial to Cramers picks some time back...no human can totally follow him and I tried to "cherry pick" what I though were good but they turned out to be dogs....who know...I know a lot of...

    Anyone read thestreet.com's option alert?

I don't subscribe to ANY option or stock advisory but I second what coach is saying. Last year it was Steve Smith who mentioned TOS and started me on my journey of REALLY learning options. Any advise paid or free is JUST that...and my guess is that Steve is long term profitable.

Riskarb's combo to fly conversion journal

your right...and I threw in a put spread for good measure:)...I would have done better to just buy the stock and sell a put because I was quite bullish on it..or just buy calls...but I was trying to figure out how to do this conversion in an IRA....oh well...
