Who wants to be long over the weekend?????

Me, because I don't get caught up in the short term crap. Plenty of good companies to own if you're looking 5+ years out. And if they go down some more I'll buy some more. Still going to eat McDonalds aren't we, not saying I'm buying that stock but you get my point.

Incredibly Bearish: Retailers Running Out of In-Home Vaults/Safes

Always a good idea to have 2 safes. Put $500 and some worthless jewellry in one and the other safe has all the main loot. Then when some intruder sticks a gun in your face asking where the safe is you point him to the wrong one.

gold red. whats the target if this blows over

Gold down methinks because everyone is pretty much liquidating everything. Plus market markers can't really like buying bids on anything these days :)

Roubini sends out emergency alert-Global Depression

Anyone who buys things in shops right now should ask for a 20% discount (ok, you're not going to get that on a can of beans). If the shop doesn't play ball, don't buy (unless you really have to). But don't worry, if they don't play today, just give it time and they'll be begging for your...

    Here Comes the Regulatioin.............

What and the big money won't be able to 'influence' the 'new regulations' again? The big money always wins in the US, well most of the time anyway. Give it 5 years and then it'll be back to business as usual, just in a slightly different form. Many regulators don't like to piss off...

Buffett says economy needs immediate help

Personally I think Buffet was ordered to invest in GS as a nice soundbite to calm the market down. Of course, he demanded great terms and got them.

crazy GOOG trade eod, someone was owned

Yep, thanks guys. I'm not bothering to call IB as they're long term trades, not looking to flip them. If they stay then great, if not then no money lost. Same orders get put back in, every $10 below $400 all the way down to my eventual stop at $2.50 :)

crazy GOOG trade eod, someone was owned

20 mins to the market opens and IB still have my GOOG shares bought yesterday below 390. Surely they must have sorted this problem out by now, if indeed there was a problem.......

Cramer goes bearish...its time to sell everything except for Vale Resorts MTN

No wonder so many people struggle in the markets as they trade from day to day. 'Today's a buy, the markets bottomed and going high' the following day - 'crash is coming, get out of stocks, all hell is going to break loose' the folliwng day - 'a nice rally developing this means...

Which Hedgefunds are going out of business? SAC, citadel, TCI,and etc?

90% of investment bank traders = bull market heroes 75% of hedge funds = bull market heroes (assuming they're not specialised funds but even then....) 90% of retail clients = bull market heroes No wonder around 10% of market participants make 90% of the money (give or take). The...

If you plan to buy and hold an index ETF for several months, better to sell a LEAP?

Yes, there is a smarter way of doing things and it's called - Stop trying to be so clever because it WILL cost you. So if you think the market is going up over the next several months, keep it real simple, forget about options and just buy and hold the ETF.

70% of WTI outstanding = Speculator Positions

Got to love how successful the govt/media spin doctors have been in persuading the general population that the problems with high prices (in anything) are all the fault of those evil speculators. Never their problem, or the problems of their crazy policies to blame...........
