    Surprise...Canadians becoming more conservative

 Are you being sarcastic? Why on Earth do we need a nuclear weapons program? I am far more content to reap the economic benefits of mining and producing the uranium alone.

I think the safety/security aspect refers to military and police.

    Surprise...Canadians becoming more conservative

How would that be more telling? Most of the population of Canada lives within a reasonable distance of the border anyways. And of course people with tons of cash would head to the USA for a major procedure. You can get the job done quicker, there's no denying that. But it's a cost/benefit...

    Surprise...Canadians becoming more conservative

You see that's the catch. The USA healthcare system only works for people with loads of cash. The average joe wants to be taken care of at a fraction of the cost. Hence the Canadian system.

    Surprise...Canadians becoming more conservative

Indeed, it is also my impression that Canadians generally prefer their healthcare system over most others. A country doesn't need to subscribe to EVERY "conservative" viewpoint to prefer conservatism in general. The majority of Canadians are also pro-choice, pro-gay marriage. I think we...

    Surprise...Canadians becoming more conservative

http://www.torontosun.com/2011/06/08/surprisecanadians-becoming-more-conservative If the recent Conservative Party majority win weren't proof enough, an annual poll for a think tank headed up by former Reformer Preston Manning has found, yet again, conservatism is becoming mainstream in...

Blackjack player beats 3 Atlantic City Casinos for $15.1M

Ugh, yet again, please read my posts carefully. The pass line odds bet is a 0% house edge by itself. Of course, you can't just place a pass line odds bet. You must first place a pass line bet. So the house edge statistics you posted above are for the pass line bet + pass line odds bet.

Republican Mainstream Flirts with Brief US Default

All a technical debt default would do is serve to piss off USA's creditors. I don't know about you, but if I owe a bank a lot of money, I wouldn't start making late payments just to "prove a point". On the other hand, the USA clearly has a debt problem and has for a long time. To this...

Blackjack player beats 3 Atlantic City Casinos for $15.1M

As an overall game, yes, blackjack provides the best odds for the player, provided the player plays perfect basic strategy. But on an individual bet basis, the pass line odds bet in craps is 0% and therefore the best single bet you can make in a casino.

Blackjack player beats 3 Atlantic City Casinos for $15.1M

I see you've never played craps before. A pass line bet is different from a pass line odds bet. The pass line bet has a 1.41% house edge, but the pass line odds bet pays even money and is therefore 0% house edge. The kicker is that you must make a pass line bet before making a pass line...

Blackjack player beats 3 Atlantic City Casinos for $15.1M

It's a well known fact that house odds are less than 1% when a player uses basic blackjack strategy. Obviously the number varies slightly depending on specific rules that might differ between each casino, but the house edge is indeed under 1%. The best casino bet to make is the pass line...

    What's Wrong with Canada?

Canada is the second largest uranium producer in the world, second to Kazahkstan as of 2009, producing 22% of world output. Canada hosts the largest uranium mine in the world. To 2008, more uranium had been mined in Canada than any other country – 428,000 tU, 18% of world total...
