    People are negative about trading

Very well said. It would be the same thing if I was starting a new business. It doesn’t make it any easier to deal with to understand the issue. I wish I could share this experience with everyone in my life but it causes more grief than it’s worth

    Not looking back

I want to start a discussion about watching price action after you were out of a trade. This happens to me whether I make a profit or loss. I seem to look back afterwards and of course think “I could have made so much more” can anyone else relate with this?

    People are negative about trading

Yeah I get that. I think what annoys me the most is how people are negative and they know nothing about trading. They have never traded once in their life and some of the people that are negative don’t even invest.

    People are negative about trading

It really sucks that the average person is negative about trading. I’ve gotten to the point where I do not share my trading life with much of anyone. I have 1 friend who is very supportive, no surprise that he was trading for about 1.5 years until recently. One of my closest friends continues...

changing my mind on day trading

Very well said. Some days I take one trade, make my money from the day and I’m done. Sometimes within 10 minutes of market open.

changing my mind on day trading

Well said. Some days I do one trade, make my daily profit and done. 500-1500 trades per day would make me crazy! We each have to find what works for us.

changing my mind on day trading

Well. Here’s another post that went off on the crazy train. I guess the bottom line is to figure out what works for each one of us. I am closer than ever to realizing my dream to earn my whole living from trading. I still have my sales job which fortunately I do over the phone and Internet...

what is even funnier is that someone actually studied that

Does anyone here use more esoteric trading strategies like Astrology or psychics?

OMG, this is laughable. I am pretty sure the market does not care about astrology.

Good at poker bad at trading, how could that be?

I played poker up to 7 days per week for about 5 years. In the end I realized all was really happening is that we are exchanging $$ back and forth between players. HMM, sounds like the market doesn't it? and then there is the house rake, just like fees and commissions. I stoped playing cause I...

Trading a Bear Market Crash: newbs are fkd, Why don't talking heads help?

The talking heads are media folks, they do not know crap about the markets. MOst of the time they are reading a script. You could do well to do the exact opposite of what they say.....

    Swing Trading buying call options

I have some experience with this. Here is one issue you will face when trade works out. I have been thru this recently with USO. Say you buy ATM for even 2 months out, so that would be the May expiration. so right now the 20May 74 calls have a measly 7 ct's open interest and 39 cts traded...

changing my mind on day trading

that is a fair question. Mu hours are much less for day trading than swing trading. Now this is on me,,, I cannot just leave it be after the market is closed. I will check prices in both the after hours and premarket. If I am in an index or Crude trade I will be checking futures, even in the...

changing my mind on day trading

I will agree with M.W. and this is not meant to turn into a message war. BUT, it is one particular trader who turned me around on day trading. He is very successful and has been making his living day trading now for over 7 years. He got me to take an honest look at things. Thank god I have...

    latest Rally

yes yes... all my trades were long last week,,, USO, BIDU, AAPL, YY, BABA and others....also was out of all of them same day as entry or the next day with USO... not here to argue. I believe mid-long term like 1-12 months or longer this market will struggle to go higher. But I am honest...

    latest Rally

changing my mind on day trading

interesting- try searching for anything like "why day trading is great" and all you come up with are negative articles of why day trading is bad. I see those articles are mostly referring to the traditional scalping of 20-40 trades per day. I am doing 2-3, so I will call that "low volume" day...

    latest Rally

how can you say that. Rising interest rates are bad for stocks, especially growth stocks. Those companies rely on cheap money to borrow and expand their businesses. As those sources of funds become more expensive it bites into their future growth of earnings. Are you really gonna tell us that...

changing my mind on day trading

all true... but day trading gets such a bad reputation. I find alot to be said for it being good. As well we see these VERY short lived moves, both up and down. So, does swing trading really makes sense? especially when we are stuck in a range for the last 3 months...

    latest Rally

we have just had the second rally of 4 days on S&P 500 this year. The last one was followed by more downside. S&P did break both the 20 day EMA and 50 day EMA, but that is not new. I just am not buying this rally, not only has nothing changed , but things are worse. Since that last 4 day rally...
