FED Made Loans to GE, Harley Davidson and Other Businesses

There are worse things than a depression; such as corporate fascism and socialism for the rich. If it's easy for you to get over, then you should question whether you're even a free market capitalist. Some of these companies took taxpayer money, then turned right around and screwed the...

Fighting the HFT algos... daytraders and floor traders vs. HFT traders

I've been thinking about this idea. Can you offer suggestions for which markets you like as well as brokers that will accommodate a trader from the US? Thanks.

    gold's H&S top

Don't know why, but there are certain contract months that are the popular ones.

The March contract has the volume.

    gold's H&S top

No doubt, there are variables that can temporarily push the dollar up, but I still think all things considered, gold will be higher in a year than it is today. I don't think any Korean conflict will be a reason to sell gold and rush to fiat. As far as real inflation goes, I see gas, groceries...

    gold's H&S top

It could certainly happen, but the Fed is engaging in policy that devalues the currency. Until there's a fundamental shift in that, I consider the longer term trend in gold to remain up...not straight up, but still up.

    gold's H&S top

I'm watching for this H & S to fail, which tends to become a powerful up move if it happens. Reason being; gold is essentially an inverse dollar play and given QE2, I wouldn't be looking for the dollar to gain strength.

CNN: North Korea deploys SAMs missiles

Do you really think China / Russia are going to allow WWIII over a pip squeak like North Korea? What's the economic or vital interest in NK? I just don't see it. NK reminds me of a mean little chihuahua. I think cooler heads will prevail.

Ron Paul: Crotch Groped by TSA, Calls for Boycott of Airlines

I am of the opinion that if American liberty is sacrificed, then so should be political correctness. It's obvious that those who've attempted terrorism against the airlines are youthful men of Middle East descent. They should be profiled. The way I see it, there is no way political...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Today was a day where after the first couple of trades go bad and you see the market dawdling around, either go to another market or take the day off. This too, is part of trading. IMHO, the days to trade are those where there is directional momentum.

    Working on Consistent Profitability

I'll offer a suggestion on taking profits. I would determine a logical target area before you put the trade on. A couple of ideas would be to look for the next level of support / resistance or calculate a measured move. Now that you have an idea of where you think price will go in the near...

Has this NIGHTMARE happened to anyone?

I know you didn't blow out...this time. That's why I said "potential". But what if it were May 6 and you were long before the flash crash when you thought you were flat? I guess that would just suck.

Has this NIGHTMARE happened to anyone?

Razor, look at the upper left side of the home page; Broker Ratings. People are posting good and bad with regards to brokers there all the time. Maybe you could post your two cents there. One of the best ways to get your broker to take some action is to expose the issue and the responsible...

    Analyze this chart for Monday.

I would be looking for a buy around the mid point of the last long up candle. To pull the trigger, I'd want to see support come in. I'd size the position by placing a stop below the first low of the double bottom.

I want to trade in the future...

There are no college courses that can prepare you for trading. You will need a lot of money to start out and a way to rebuild your stake once it's lost. Even the best traders lost sizeable sums of money before getting the experience needed to profit consistently. Trading is learned by doing...

    Strong stocks

Maybe a bit early. Such a strong, high vol day down and closing near it's bottom. I like to wait until I see a finish well off the low of the day. Good trading.
