What happens to a MOC if stop hit in last 10 minutes?

Since MOC's cannot be cancelled in the last 20 minutes, the way I see it you have 2 options: 1) get rid of your stop before the MOC deadline. This essentially makes you "unprotected" into the close. 2) instead of an MOC order use a market order with a "good after time" setting. These are...

China Threatens To Trigger Us Dollar Crash

So let me get this straight. The Chinese are going to retaliate against our calls for strengthening their currency by strengthening their currency? Whatever.

    Trading indices at prop firm

Not trying to defend the Brights.... but based on the commissions you appear to pay on your PnL Thread posts, you are the last person I'd ever expect to see criticizing someone else's rates. Or are you just hitting ECN's all day?

I'd argue indications are more useful now as the ones being indicated are meaningful imbalances. I never paid attention to them until the change, but now I think they are useful "heads ups" in case I missed something.

Considering day trading for a living

Hi, I'm tired of my 9 to 5 job. I did a do-it-yourself will last week and really liked it. No one has sued me over it, so I must have a knack for it. I also tried out a lawyer simulator online and I did well at that too. So I thought why not chuck this job and try my hand at being a lawyer...

Honestly, I don't know why the change. My guess is it might be related to Reg NMS.

    The Opening Orders Thread

Here's what IS happening every morning this week. There's been virtually no indications with the exception of a handful of glaring imbalances, usually news stocks. I actually like the new system because what few indications that are published are major ones and are a good heads up. But to...

    The Opening Orders Thread

As Don has pointed out many times, the sad truth is that it's very hard to implement this strategy in a retail environment. It's not so much the orders you place as the orders that fill. It's impossible to predict your fills on any given day and that is hard to manage retail. It can be done but...

How to do rollover for NQ in Interactive Brokers

Type "NQ" in a new data line, select "combination". Put in the appropriate products and create a calendar spread. This should give you the actual roll trade, which will be a little cheaper than doing the 2 trades yourself.

Sorry chiguy. I pulled him, luckily. what a nasty open. There were analyst comments on him and that was the deciding factor for me. 4L, 1S +2500 today.

    ECHOTrade

Been there for a year and a half. Happy with my rates, comparable to IB. I started off at 30:1 and they've worked with me for certain strategies that required more. Rarely carry overnights, but I think it's 10:1. I trade remote so I missed the strippers too. I'm not a big fan of...

what's the benefit of prop vs retail?

Don't forget the lower commission at IB vs Bright. Also don't forget that passthroughs hit your account immediately at IB vs end of the month at Bright.

Maybe news didn't matter back then. I can only tell you that news is important to me these days. If for no other reason than I don't need the additional stress on the open I try to avoid them. Thanks for the props guys, I had no idea I had so many fans.

    The Opening Orders Thread

Well, it is Don's thread so I guess he's the man you need to address this to. I rarely make the +115, 5 fills blah blah blah posts. I just try to contribute when appropriate. Don has always preached pulling news stocks, FWIW. How one defines "news" is open to argument.
