One thing that's becoming slightly obvious - and actually makes me feel better - is that the data and numbers are becoming important again. That's a relief.

Ah, good morning, fellas! Last night went well. Closed out the EUR trade at 1.33, then sold some swissie which I just bought back for about 50 pips. So, questions is where does it go now? EUR going back up, or stepping back down again?

I thought the barrier at 1.30 was actually 1.3003. *shrug*

I bought some USD/JPY at 102.53. Let's see how it goes.

Good luck, mate. Though it'll probably be another 40 minutes before something gets going (US open). Might be a good move, too, as lots of take profits are bound to happen (end of the month).

*yawn* I think we've been spoiled with all this excitement lately, that when we get a "normal" day, we're now all bummed out.

Yeah, it's not a scalping field today, methinks.

Alright, out of the Aussie at .48 (14 pips).

    28. Also shorted the Aussie (scalp) based on the 4cast report that longs are beginning to bail out now that the Aussie treasurer Costello followed Howell up with saying their exports are beginning to hurt big time. Shorted the aussie at .7862. That's a scalp.

Until tomorrow. Or unless I get stopped out.

You could be right, but I think it's just a lot of profit taking. The upward trend still exists. Of course, if you're just talking scalping, ignore my commentary completely.

Doesn't look that down from 30 seconds.

heh...long from 53 here as well. What's your target?

I dunno, I think Monday and Tuesday might see a slight correction. Lots of investment banks have their year end this month, and they'll be looking to cash out and take profits rather than trying to go long and risk rocking the boat. After that, of course, it'll be back to the stampede, as the...

It would seem the "panic" has re-engaged. Doesn't Trichet speak tonight on the Euro?

Well done Neal. Enjoy the holidays. Looks like you got out JUST in time :)

I think they have to consider it (intervention). Lack of any response will continue the stampede. A stampede only ends when the herd reaches the end of the canyon. At that point it usually tramples the lead runners and holds.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

The trend will do that, eh?

Wonder if that spike occured because of the BoE comments about the dollar falling "indefinitely". Regardless, it's clear that this overall fall will not stop until someone intervenes. And that will only delay it. Is interesting that the Swissie, AUD or yen didn't move too much though.
