How much would you bet on this trade

i look at it differently. If your max drawdown in 7 net consecutive losses, say, then winning first trade will increase your skin to 8.5 losses. From random generator, for win 70% and win/loss 1.5:1 I found there is only 4 occasions out of 1000 where I would blow up starting witn 7 bullets...

How much would you bet on this trade

15% of the amount you can afford to lose per trade. After win, reinvest all winnings in next trade. And then rebase back to 15%. thats what I do. This is assuming: your strategy is scalable. you are not falling into trap as hedge fund computers may detect same pattern as you at the...

How to prevent brokers from knowing your strategy?

randomize your stops target, entries. Once your system gives you entry, use random generator to alter the entry point, time, etc, etc. as markets random most of time this may not nagatively affect performance. In the right spot it will enhance. Then, let them try reverse engeneer :D :D :D

    Taking 5,000 to 100,000

if you earn little then this is probably worthvile goal. On decent pay you need to ask yourself, can i turn 100k in 10m in say 5 years with reasonable probability. And have a life, of course, else why bother. clearly this involves longerterm trades. It is not an easy path walking minefield...

    Australian housing bubble thread

sorry, was not clear enough. why i think 70% fall is a swelled possibility: because of large recent immigration. 200K per year or so , i believe. This is 1m people in 5 years mostly located in Sydney and Melbourne. Most of these people are in cash and will pack they coffers and leave back home...

    Australian housing bubble thread

more and more i think there is a decent chance AU property is setup for HK style 70% fall. I give it 20% chance at present. here is the scenario: EURCHF tanking to new lows as euro troble escalate. this will put lots of pressure on interest rates, yields etc. Interest rates, attractive...

Goldman traders lose money on just one day in first quarter

there is possibility that they learned how to use computers in trading properly. one reason why social pages are so valuable is because they spy on people and sell it to these guys, and these guys make money out of it.

CME raises silver margin for 3rd time in 7 days.

I remember these days too in index futures. Entering trade, you are starting with $-100. Nikkei contract commision was $500. My first attempt at trading and managed +50%. Was not enough though as undercapitalised. Markets changed a lot.

All Wars have economics as the reason for War

Tesla arrival to US was the key event for the US and responsible for the genuine rise of US. Things have now changed and there is no way back. Next stage is wars... Lasts until it lasts.

The final collapse of the US dollar it is just around the corner

Assume you are sarcastic here. I think US will get worse country to live in however selected companies and army will(have?) unite and globalise and act as one. And there are 2 continuations from there: 1. they prosper and grab the whole world and make anyone pay them appropriate taxes...

Why did S&P said there can be a DOUBLE dip recession in 2012?

after '87 crash there was around 35 months before recession started globally. Now we are in month 32 after GFC crash. rates going up bit by bit. stimulus drying up. All expectations seem based on more borrowing which is mostly not happening. however aud is near high so holding off...

Maximum sensible bet size for great setups

bet size is important. If you bet with stop 2% and you risk 200K, that means position is 10M . Do not underestimate willingness of the market to visit your stop price. So, if trading SP or EUUS, this is maybe ok i guess. but anything less, you may be scheduled for slaughter. But you dont...

H1B Visa program has already ruined this country

outsurcing justified or not will go on for at least couple of years. Then may reverse.
