1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

You sir are one of the most gullible people I have read on ET for days. If some politician told you if he had sex with your mother that it would create jobs, would you believe him? The govt has never been able to create jobs by taxing the public. What makes you think the same group of thugs...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

+1 except for the form of govt cited. We are a democratic republic, not a representative democracy. Two different animals.

    The end is near.

Bumma is just a black Bush, economically. Same economic ends, to follow their handlers' wishes. Socially, he gives the simple sheeple lots to get emotional about, but there is no substance there. Disenfranchisement is inevitable. So are riots, martial law and the UN on Main Street. Don't believe...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

So THAT is how they plan to pay for the next round of unemployment insurance extensions. Well damn, I knew another round was coming, after all we are in a socialist nation now, but I didn't expect traders, participants in capitalism, would be the horses on the yoke. Well fuck me...

EXPLAIN: How is economy in depression state with only -2.5% GDP

Koo did a good job with those cases, and you're right, they are familiar. We failed to learn from the Japanese economy, which still has not recovered. Or more accurately, our leaders chose to obey their handlers and ram the US into the ground.

The absence of emotions, combined with sim-type fills (no slippage), creates idealism in results. Yes, they should be higher.

EXPLAIN: How is economy in depression state with only -2.5% GDP

The Fed decided to hide M3, so you will not get accurate answers to your question. The economy remains trending down, and will deepen in January 2010 following an abyssmal holiday sales season.

There is no difference in the economic ends of these two parties.

On that, we agree. There is no better place to develop a system of your own design than in sim. Quite foolish to do so in cash. Once your system is right, then go to cash, starting small, in order to conquer emotions in trading, and increasing size as emotions are controlled with more size. We...

I know ten times as many traders who are now former cash traders with blown accounts, as traders who started on a sim, and worked up their confidence before going to cash.

I concur that, as a trader, watching the news has little benefit. Some traders actually are glued to the news every waking moment, though. However, as a citizen, keeping track of current events, happily without the media, is required to know which direction the rest of your life and community is...

What Is The Dollar Worth ?

It already is the case. So you don't know any family who earns less than $50k? Take a ride down middle America. Is anyone so disconnected they think most families are earning more than $50k per year? That they do not go to Walmart every week to squeeze their budgets? What, do you have a...

TV entertainers aside, the govt does not care what traders want. They are not asking. They will impose whatever tax they desire. How would traders revolt? Stop trading, thus robbing the govt of the tax income? Talk about cooking the golden goose. We would likely keep quiet and swallow it, and...

What Is The Dollar Worth ?

Not at present, but they have been and are likely to have greater metal value in the future, given the trend of the dollar. Pity it is a 2006 federal crime to melt currency or sell currency to a melter for that purpose...

What Is The Dollar Worth ?

Given that there are more poor folks than middle class folks, I would disagree with this example. CPI is the official govt measure of inflation's effect on the taxpayer. However, CPI is a joke and does not measure real recurring staple costs every household earning less than $50k (that's the...

Again, correct. Hoover and Roosevelt's mistakes repeated by the current administration, combined with the helicopter's printing presses running at unprecedented levels, are creating an inflationary depression.

That would not fix anything, just add another bandaid to a gaping wound with multiple soaked 4x4 pads draped over it, but still open, festering and leading to amputation. No more benefit than another $8k tax credit. Treating symptoms does not fix the problem.
