Importance of non- commercial participants in the market

Not really. Exactly how do you define the difference between a retail algo and an institutional one? Besides, of course, who's running it. I'm genuinely curious about this. I figure code is code.

Fed must bisect to regain credibility...

Yes, as in overcompensate in one direction and then back in the other by less, and then back in the other by even less... repeating until you find the "sweet spot". As opposed to moving towards the "sweet spot" a little, then a little more, then a little more. Point 'C' would be the sweet spot...

Fed must bisect to regain credibility...

That's the easy explanation. But, if it were true, we'd see much more turnover in those positions. I find it far more likely that they're extremely smart. And, they're using that smarts to disguise their collusion from the ordinary citizen. The goal being to pay for fiscal recklessness via...

Fed must bisect to regain credibility...

Volcker raised to 20% and unemployment went over 10%. Right now we're starting to see small improvements, sure; mostly just in housing. The labor market is still very strong and so a wage-price spiral is very possible. It's the difference between "beating around the bush" and "taking the bull...

    tradestation is a nightmare

You're missing the statement I made about "that iceberg being under water". Just because you didn't see any code specifically regarding trading and risk management doesn't mean that someone who knows about automation as well as trading/risk isn't combining the two. It's more fair, IMHO, to...

    tradestation is a nightmare

Clearly you missed the thread I created under networking/security... @BlueWaterSailor made valuable contributions and definitely knows a little something about automation. You can go ahead and poo-poo the simplicity of the hack discussed there. But, I think most of that iceberg is under water...

Fed must bisect to regain credibility...

instead they're so scared of causing any measurable harm to the economy that they'll be tippy-toeing rates forever. This is why the market sees them as "chicken hawks". Ironically, causing harm to the economy is exactly what needs to be done for inflation to be brought back in line. Could this...

    Ultimate Road Warrior Setup?

Yeah, sometimes just getting openwrt running is a bit of pain; esp. if your hardware won't cooperate. You could always try openvpn (or wireguard) on a proper linux box instead. There are decent helper scripts here.

Importance of non- commercial participants in the market

Political will for price controls seems to be on the rise and this is the type of communication that's needed to stem it.

Well, it seems that only their entry level staff actually have to work... everyone else appears to get "Unlimited Paid Time Off". So, you know, maybe Fed rate increases haven't trickled through to them yet. https://careers.tradestation.com/en-US/search?facetcountry=us What a fuckin' joke...

    Who has Overnight on Ignore/Block?

Agreed, this is the best reason to use the feature; I'll often toggle it on/off. On a very rare occasion it's helpful if your ego is bruised too but that's just temporary. As far as @Overnight is concerned specifically... he's no more annoying (or insightful :p) than the average ET user. I like...
