    Dual Video Cards

Here is fairly good and short article about setting up multiple monitor systems in general and running Windows 2000 in particular: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en-us/default.asp?url=/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en-us/prork/prdh_dmt_xkef.asp

Yes That has to work only if your cards are in Windows 2000 Hardware Compatibility List, http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/howtobuy/upgrading/compat/search/devices.asp. If they are not, that may or may not work.

I was wrong, that is the best deal for a quad card. Sorry folks, I unintentionally misinformed you about Jaton card. Upon closer review it turned out that the word "Quad" in that card's name refers to variety of video outputs (RGB, TV, DVI). Jaton card does not support 4 monitors. If it is...

A driver problem and non-PnP devices conflict would be the first guesses. Check out Device Manager. Mute all the inputs, that may help. If it does not, where the noise is coming from? What kind of mouse you use? motherboard? speakers? any other audio inputs? can you hear it in Safe Mode?

Poor Nitro, you are still hallucinating. You are accusing me of what I never did. If I can, I do help people who ask for help and a part of that help is "beating down" people who are talking deceptive nonsense and confuse the others.

Hardware wise it should be working. To the extent of Win XP, there is no guaranties because you nVIDIA card is not in XP's Hardware Compatibility List. See http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/default.aspx?subID=22&xslt=search&qu=viper&scope=1&btnSearch=Go

I can't help you, I am not a doctor. For the audience, why nitro is talking "processors" while I said "video and networking"? The explanation is in another thread: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=176662#post176662

A steal indeed. It's a real bargain for this good but just a bit outdated (1998) card. Note, it's got only 4MB of memory (per display). Nonetheless I'd rather take my chances with new Jaton 3DFORCE S-64 QUAD AGP card which you can have (as of today) for $46 including s&h...

Did not you say in your first post that it was working fine before? I am a bit confused. Anyway, you never mentioned what "Primary Video Device" (or "Init Display First") your machine is set to use in BIOS setup. Maybe it's just what you need to tweak.

I can't correct you because I have no idea what are you talking about. Please point me to the reference to "the IRQ windows management" and "wait states from" it. No, do not try to explain it with another baloney, but give me a reference instead. Since you posts are full of the stuff like this I...

Whatever hardware you'll buy will be overkill for your hardware needs, therefore it does not really matter as long as you do not buy junk. OTOH, any hardware can be faulty and/or misconfigured, which means you can waste lo-o-o-o-o-o-ong time doing hardware technician's job instead of trading...

cgjung, If you are running Norton Internet Security or ZoneAlarm try disabling them and if that helps, switch to Sygate's firewall.

    Security: beware of BlackIce Defender

Of course it does. If one shits himself, then spending the rest of his life in diapers would work for him too. However, it would be more beneficial to get cured instead. Which, most importantly, would prove that your operations are flawed if you have to rely on that. I already said that in...

Did you update the BIOS? A few more things to try: 1) unplug floppy drive 2) disable power management in BIOS 3) clear CMOS 4) set CPU to lower base frequency 5) put PCI card into another slot 6) swap processors between two systems

    Security: beware of BlackIce Defender

Nobody brings a gun to the bank. Understand? There may be something dangerous inside the bank (exploitable software) which should be kept in the box (hardened OS) that nobody could create a damage using it. With a gun, you can damage something otherwise healthy. Hacking is attacking unhealthy...
