Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

This is not to suggest that those who disagree not be allowed to post at all. If, for example, ms and bs want to open threads entitled something along the lines of Price Action Trading Is Total Crap, there's nothing to stop them from doing so. But for them to get a free pass for this...

Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

Well, thank you. But I didn't post that looking for endorsements. I'm very much aware of the fact that people all over the world trade the SLA, and I'm also very much aware of how much the internet has changed over the past twenty years. But, let's face it, there's only so much to say. At some...

I am sick of these fake mentors

Well, that's nice of you. And, yes, wrb is to be admired. As is NoDoji. And of course other PATs. For tenacity if nothing else. But I'm not a mentor. If anything, I provide and maintain training wheels. The truly hard work is left up to the trader. As for Jack, I hope that he was satisfied...

Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

That's pretty much the function of the moderator of a debate. The OP of a thread is in the position of knowing what's on topic or not. Otherwise he never would have opened the thread. Being "emotionally effected" is not the issue, rather the continual arguing with those who have no interest in...

Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

In practice, it doesn't work that way unless every other poster who is interested in the thread also puts the individual(s) on Ignore. Otherwise, one ends up with a lot of posts addressed to someone who "isn't there", and eventually people just stop posting to the thread because it's not worth...

Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

Not necessarily. I've been moderator of the Wyckoff Forum at TL for seven years. Trolls' posts are moved to an off-topic thread so that anyone who wants to read them can do so, while everyone else can discuss pertinent subjects. Unfortunately, TL has become a beginner/FX vendor site that few...

Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

I've suggested that, to no avail. But to answer your question, yes, something could be done. As to why it isn't done, I have no idea. "Ignore" is ultimately a silly option and more trouble than it's worth.

And I know professional musicians. That doesn't mean that I can play the guitar.

I am sick of these fake mentors

No one does. But he is a pest, which makes carrying on serious conversations difficult. Of course if ET is entertainment only, that's all fine. But then look at what TL became.

    Didn't you get the memo? Charts are nonsense . . . ;)

I am sick of these fake mentors

So ms starts these donnybrooks in order to draw attention to himself and attract subscribers, and the thread already has over three dozen posts and more than 500 views. What an easy way to make a living. ;)

I am sick of these fake mentors

And NoDoji has about the same number of posts that you do yet has twice the followers. ET members are not as stupid as you seem to think they are.

I am sick of these fake mentors

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of these not-so-stealth vendors with their high-priced newsletters who have no trading plans whatsoever or even trading systems, at least trading systems that they understand well enough to explain and whose icons have blown their accounts on more than one occasion (blowing...

How do you deal with losses?

George Carlin's take is a bit less harsh: caca pasa.

    So after years of seaching..

You haven't been around long enough to know. If you don't know how to trade either an upside or downside breakout but prefer to be told what to do, it's unlikely that you'd actually do it. Stop looking for people to follow. I can assure you that successful traders don't waste their time on...

    So after years of seaching..

As I've said, repeatedly, there is no such thing as a "real-time call" on a message board. I learned how this was faked almost twenty years ago. Anyone who posts such calls isn't trading. It simply isn't possible, with or without "timestamps". When BS, for example, posts these calls, the RT...

You're on a roll here, Mark. I hope the amateur traders are paying attention. ;)

How Tea Party tax cuts are turning Kansas into a smoking ruin

Because people -- regardless of their political philosophies and affiliations -- are scared (ordinary people, that is). They've been scared since '08. And people who are afraid turn to those who know how to pander to that fear. That's been the case for millennia. Nowadays the panderers are...
