U should get these electrical engineers to work with you on trading systems, It is one of the better backgrounds for it.

I'm a degreed Engineer with multiple US and international patents in the field. Does that make my trading system better ?

Some of the wealthiest traders I have met through my career have backgrounds that are decidedly non-scientific. It takes all kinds, and there is no one correct way.

Yes, actually being a patent holder (suggesting creativity) and electrical engineer (very strong analytical ability with some useful analytic frameworks from that field) does suggest to me you are more likely to be successful than most. Especially in technical or systems trading. A liberal arts or some other kind of guy might find an edge based on their aptitude or proclivity, but i think it is less likely. Ive found that creativity and analytical ability count for allot, at least today.

Maybe the question really is... why should we take MS seriously ? Wouldn't it be appropriate for Baron to attach a disclaimer to his profile that his posts are strictly for entertainment value ?

No one does. But he is a pest, which makes carrying on serious conversations difficult.

Of course if ET is entertainment only, that's all fine. But then look at what TL became.

The truth is he does know some of the best options, futures and quantitative traders in the world - so his claims are not as outlandish as they might seem to those who don't know his contacts.

Mr. dbphoneix, You are one of the truly great mentors, sir ! I got to know about Price and Volume relationship through your threads and my trading skills have improved way better; The other great mentors that I have been following on ET are Jack Hershey (I've just found out that he was passed away last year...very sad; I remember on one thread that you said you and Jack didn't get along well although I have not come across a thread you two ever interacted...) and wrbtrader (formerly know as NihabaAshi); anyway, it's nice to see you still active on ET

Well, that's nice of you. And, yes, wrb is to be admired. As is NoDoji. And of course other PATs. For tenacity if nothing else.

But I'm not a mentor. If anything, I provide and maintain training wheels. The truly hard work is left up to the trader.

As for Jack, I hope that he was satisfied with his legacy. Even though he and I did not see eye to eye on many aspects of trading, he was after all just trying to pay it forward. I suspect he would be delighted with the Fractal Theory thread.

Incidentally, keep your eyes open for a revised and updated SLA.

It does help to have psychpathic traits in this business. You have to love watching sheep get led to slaughter sometimes paying for the privalege.

The concept of a professional trader teaching people for chump change is hilarious. Long may it continue.

amazes me that so many of you have time to continually argue & post useless sh*t on here. Outside of @londonkid's remarks/reasoning, there's no reason to come here anymore. What am I missing? Ranting about trading plans, price drivers, and money management.

but I guess I'll have the entertainment to look forward to on Friday afternoons. wait, no, I'll still be working.
