Question: how to deal with trolls? Can't anybody do something about them?

Well, thank you. But I didn't post that looking for endorsements. I'm very much aware of the fact that people all over the world trade the SLA, and I'm also very much aware of how much the internet has changed over the past twenty years. But, let's face it, there's only so much to say. At some point, the action is in journals, as those who are interested in my or anyone else's approach go through the process of implementation. That they are open to ridicule for attempting to do so says much about the anger and frustration experienced by failed traders.
The content provider. Not the content (or context or quality of discussion) destroyers. Oddtrader said it best. Anyone who's on the Thread Starter (content provider)'s ignore list should be unable to post to that discussion.
Really. People should be required to be well mannered and stay within grace of the thread starter. If thread starters could determine who has permission to add content to their threads it would solve the ignore issue, proactively, forever, while simultaneously creating a quality environment for the exchange of high quality on-topic, well-sorted and easily searchable content in nice neat database format where requests for info receive timely personal responses.
This is a logical solution. As a businessman you might consider it an experiment if you're set in not implementing it on ET, and on a lark put it up on a different server with another name and then determine by the reputation and revenue it generates if it's a good idea or not. IMO it would draw all the high quality on-topic conversations away from all competitors and be a huge success.
This is not to suggest that those who disagree not be allowed to post at all. If, for example, ms and bs want to open threads entitled something along the lines of Price Action Trading Is Total Crap, there's nothing to stop them from doing so. But for them to get a free pass for this interminable hammering at price action traders makes no sense.
I think it's natural development would be "They" can also put "us" on their ignore list, therefore we cannot see even the existence of their threads that could be started by them or their other nicknames.
Then they will have a better/favourable environment for preaching whatever they want to say, without any unwanted interference by us Whom they consider - Trolls! lol
PS: BTW, I can't see any problem, when a thread saying method A is good and method B is bad, however another thread saying completely the opposite, Both threads co-exist concurrently on ET.
Its reasons are self-explanatory - Every method is the Holy Grail, just sometimes!

Why do people post to threads on which they're not welcome? I posted a question to romik's SAR thread which he never answered so I never posted again. There are tons of journals I never post to either because I have no interest in the subject or because the journalist is deluded. But rather than disrupt his journal, I just leave it alone. There is, after all, research to be done. Nor am I disruptive in indicator threads or automated trading threads or option threads or forex threads. In fact, I had never even heard of BS until he started attacking me and those who were interested in learning how to implement the SLA. As for ms, I wouldn't think about him at all if he'd just get off my back. Why would I?
I fully understand why there are so many angry, frustrated, bitter people out there, far beyond the world of trading. But a forum of whatever sort need not be a Fight Club. At least some websites are beginning to learn that, closing out their Comments sections.
Please notice the key word: Optional! , as sometimes a thread starter would like to hear voices from all members, including the opposite site.

This is super funny yet sad. When someone like panzerman effectively destroys an arcahiac and false belief system with facts-- the mental midgets who cling to the beliefs reach out to the authorities to have them silenced. Just like government sanctioned religious fanatics.

Nobody wants to silence anybody. They only want the privilege -- some would say right -- to discuss what they please without being pestered unceasingly by those who disagree. The P&R Forum is downstairs, though it's becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between the two.
