Extraordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of ET

You're right. You can only trust yourself. But will you be able to trust yourself when things go wrong in trading, as they always do?

Extraordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of ET

Hi P1, thanks for your reply. Read your second paragraph again. "I've done my testing in real time", then "I don't get into drawdowns and hope." Trust me, there will come a time when you get into drawdowns and hope. Let's revisit your crew analogy in a trading context. You've prepared yourself...

We are in hemisync. And one day Jack will figure out that I was complementing him on his neuroplasticity.

Extraordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of ET

PointOne, you're a minnow in the ocean of trading psychology. The good traders trade, while others are cogs in a multi-level marketing scheme. What are you going to do when your desire to philosophize meets the hard reality of drawdowns? You don't want to get to the point where you drink the...

    NLP Nonsense

That was a brave attempt to appear deep, but you're splashing around like a sparrow in a birdbath. Have you ever considered the importance of losing?

Yes, I loved Baldrick in Blackadder as well!

    NLP Nonsense

Geez, I have to disagree with you. Let's take one example from Charles Faulkner. Say you were the fat kid at the beach, and the older kids along with your mother made fun of your tits. Pretty traumatic for a kid, right? Body image scarred for life... Now, Faulkner's advice would be to replay...

    Anyone else workout in here?

So Matt, if you were to design an optimal fat-burning program, what would it be, say compared with the Body-for-Life program?

Ellipticals are good, but the interval and hill programs are a must, unless you want to be a cardio gerbil.

Oh cool. Usher too. I channel-surfed into a fitness segment on television, and there he was doing a Furey pushup.

Matt, thanks for the great information. I have heard that the magic number for a well-defined six-pack is a body fat percentage of 8%, regardless of your ab workout intensity. Is that true?

I could not agree with you more. I switched to Hindu (Furey) pushups and squats, achieving dramatic results. These exercises "woke up" a lot of different muscle groups not worked by machines. Change is good. I try to mix it up every four weeks or so.

BE DO HAVE and Jack Hershey vs Objective Reality

Thanks VH. I'm going to stick with the default for now. The adjustment increases peak-to-trough drawdowns about 23%, which blows out my risk parameters. Also, I tend to rely on the ergodic and the Hurst periodogram instead of the traditional indicators. If you need further details, please PM.

BE DO HAVE and Jack Hershey vs Objective Reality

I've been averaging 3.2 times the daily range on ES, not using SCT (I was getting about 0.6 there) but based on a technique developed in another thread from 2 1/2 years ago. You'll have to work for it, but the encoded thread was named Xafzar Utpp Hnvarlswry Bxer Isrcknkiot Ocuqtmcd.
