BIG update for Tick chart users on CME

Well as the voume has gone up and messaging because of all the automated systems the trading exhcange system has become more unstable. A lot of the exchanges are finding huge increases in the messaging compared to actual fills. Many of the exchanges have introduced fees to those that have a...

BIG update for Tick chart users on CME

This does not seem to be well known information. I can't find this information anywhere on esignals site and is not easy to find on the cme site either. But basically if you are using tick charts with cme globex markets you will have to make some adjustments because they are no longer...

What's the dumbest thing you've done?

I hate to say this but I think the worst mistake I made was trading right out of school and not doing something with my new degree and high grades at that time. Trading will always be there and there will always be good and bad times. If you are doing something else you have the option of just...

    Short 500 AAPL at $75

Nice entry price and timing! Although against what many believe in as far as basic trading rules, there are lots of different ways to make money.

    Esignal massively lagging today

I have noticed this at other times too when the market has picked up. The CME products get messed up prints on all the products I am looking at. Eurex and CBOT data seem ok. Between that and my execution dropping, it was definitely not worth the wait of sitting around all day sitting on my hands.

    Transact go down?

Becoming a problem every time the market picks up now it drops. I dropped 3 times. Does not give you much confidence to want to trade at volatile times. Esignal f--ed up too. Which one is worse right now I can't even tell.

    pristine day trading school

I knew someone who went to work with the firm as a "come to your house" onsite mentor. Lets just say in the 2 years I saw him trade before that he never made a dime, drove a broken down car, and seemed to be really just scraping by. Now to go to their site and see him on there as a mentor...

    WTG Praetorian!

Someone else mention this too but if you don't mind answering how has the performance been and how big is your fund at this point. IF you can't answer these questions can you point to a site that can answer those questions? I have been wondering how you have been doing.

Is CBOT changing order fill preference?

Thanks for the info. Please post if you start to hear any changes in this.

    bund vs ty

I know people who have tried and been successful at times. There is a lot of big money in that spread right now and certain days it dominates the movement in those fixed income products. Usually one of them is locked in a tight range while the other product is moving around a lot. I think...

Is CBOT changing order fill preference?

I am familiar with the LIFFE exchange protocol but was surprised to hear the CBOT might go this way too. I am not a big fan of the pro-rata fills.

Is CBOT changing order fill preference?

I recently heard that the CBOT was looking into changing their order preference to go by size instead of by time. So basically if you were the first order in the book with a 5 lot, if someone comes in with 500 lot order behind you, he would get filled before you because the orders filled would...

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

I think it depends on the market and the environment at the time. If you think about the reward it could be a lot higher then just buying the breakout but only IF you can define when to enter on the pullback. So if you get a false breakout you still make money. A lot of markets that are NOT...

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

Now that is a legitimate point about claiming profit on 90% plus of the entries. Defining a trend and recognizing how to read it is one thing, but timing entries with a win percentage that high would be quite unbelievable unless proven - which is where this should be going in Feb. I guess at...

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

I have seen the same thing for mean reversion trading where they make money for a few days or months, or whatever time frame you are talking about and then blow out all the gains in a short period of time. To me it is like a trend follower who blows out, it is all how you manage the trades...

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

As someone that wants a lot of proof for trend following to work where is yours saying that it does not work? Also your definition of trend trading of buying high and selling higher is only one definition of trend following. A lot of traders use the buy a pullback within a trend which is still...

    the basic flaws in TA

I would say for every trend trader blowout there is a mean reversion based trader who blows out. That goes the other way too for successful traders. I think the buy higher highs works well in real bull markets that produce a lot of interest -- this can be a bull market in a commodity or in a...
