Best Place to trade in the world - Quality of Life

The world health organization ranking. Based on What? Cost? Accessability? or Expertise and high tech procedures? This thread is losing it's focus in my opinion. If you are living in a cardboard hut on $3/ month you might want to look at where you can suck the most off a society...

Best Place to trade in the world - Quality of Life

Yeah right ok ok... In a nutshell I have lived both in Canada (40 years) and the US (7 years). I have paid taxes in both places. There is no question in my mind. Quality of life, low taxes and disposible income..the USA wins HANDS DOWN! By the way, applying for US citizenship now.

Right, I forgot to add in FICA, bring that tax rate up to 18-20% Thise were not horror stories my friend, those are every day events. (I still have friends and ederly parents/inlaws in Canada) Whatever you do, do not pray for "free" medical care in the US. You will regret it.

Free healthcare is available in Canada after 30 days LEGAL residency. Free is not free. "Free" is why you pay such high income taxes. The cost is included in your Provincial (like state) Income tax. Free also means waiting a month for a simple ultrasound, 3 months for an MRI, 5 months for...

Best Place to trade in the world - Quality of Life

People live in both suburbs and city. City living is generally older homes, however with the prosperity here, many older homes are demolished and new homes built in their place. City land is at a premium. The city is compact, right on Puget Sound with rolling hills and alot of greenery. No...

    slow cpu?

Did you try what I suggested? (moving TWS from #2 to #1 then back to #2 monitor?) My cable speed zooms (tested at 1750 not 1500 as comcast claims) even with TWS running...no problems here. I run several programs feeds and surf with no problems. Hell I even run my wireless laptop like this...

    slow cpu?

Are you running dual monitors? If yes, drag tws back to the no 1 monitor, maximize the window, minimize and drag it back to your no 2 monitor. I have to do this every day, otherwise there is some lag in the system. This started several months ago with a new tws version. The way I handle it...

Best Place to trade in the world - Quality of Life

You didn't read my post thoroughly, there is NO STATE or CITY Income tax in Washington State, only Federal Taxes. Seattle area property taxes are competitive, works out to about 1% of market value. Sales tax depends on where you live, ranges from 7.6-8.8%. Oregon is a couple hours away...

Best Place to trade in the world - Quality of Life

I get the feeling that you are discounting the average american based on your regional experience. Perhaps a change of location within the USA would be your best bet. The Pacific Northwest is very civilized, as a Canadian coming from Toronto and Montreal, I feel totally at ease here, crime is...

    Why traders get no respect

Who says Traders get no respect??? Two months ago my wife cashed out her mutual funds..gave me the money and asked me to swing trade it within my own account. Last year my Father in Law had me set up a charting package for him and asked me to e-mail my trades. He is grinning from ear to...

S&P looks good to a new high

Romeo, (I am a swing trader - a couple days to a couple weeks) I too agree, I went all cash on Thursdays rally to protect profits, the volume on was not convincing, and in my opinion, was confirmed with Fridays trading down all day with only a late day burst of short covering. My...

    Blaster Worm

If that is your attitude (blaming your wife) then you will surely lose the battle and land up sleeping in the doghouse for a week! That said, you are the trader right? You are on for 8-10 hours per day, accessing your online broker and doing sensitive financial transactions. If you do not...

My high Speed cable (Comcast-Seattle) has been down since early this morning. Spent about 45 minutes on the phone with a techie until an internal email hit her saying Comcast has been hit coast to coast and is down for perhaps the remainder of the day. Something to do with their routers. This...
