    cax

We finally went live on the CAX. Actually, we went live two weeks ago. Firing off our first real test trades with a totally systematic trader. We're also grey boxing another trader's system before complety black boxing it (full automation) and have a few discretionary guys kicking the tires in...

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

It's all relative. $100K is really no big deal. It's a test. I don't care if the company is retail or not; I just wanted to know the available options in terms of platforms - and was fixated on the OEC that I really liked.

Both cannon and amp are US companies. I'm looking for a UK ones.

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

Is there a good UK brokerage firm that will allow me to trade ES and DAX and use these platforms or AT? I would also like to diversify a bit away from US firms at the moment. If the CME is in the US, will a UK firm have US based servers or a US branch to minimize latency? I just want to be...

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

You're right dan. Amp confirmed that it's not separate - but an OEC rep told me that all they do is license the software to the IB (implying that there might be different technology behind it).

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

Good point jim, but I already confirmed with a rep that Amp OEC customers should experience the same problems as OEC's direct customers.

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

Jim, Amp Futures offers a white label version of OEC's platform. I have been told that they only license OEC's software - and provide their own servers and technology. Does this mean that Amp customers wouldn't have necessarily experienced the same technical problems that direct OEC clients did?

    Openecry commissions ?

If OEC is having all these problems, does this mean that customers of their IB AMP Futures are having the same problems too? My understanding is that they just license OEC's software, but the technology/servers behind the white label version of their software is different. Am I correct here or...

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

For active accounts $100K+, are the answers still the same? OEC told me that for $100K+ accounts they start at 1.90 including exchange feeds per side for ES (i think the exchange fees are 1.15) and that they're willing to lower that down the road if you're active. On which platform/broker will I...

Openecry vs Others - Speed and Features

I was thinking of getting an account set up with Open E Cry. I like the platform, but have been a bit spooked by the problems people have been recently having with connections/disconnections, etc. I do like the Block Allocation feature of Open E Cry and would like something similar if...

    Yet another Series 7 Thread..

I think you're risking it if you're just getting low 70's in your practice tests. My opinion is to take the exam once you're scoring 85 or above on all your tests.

Negotiating a trading arrangement with a hedge fund

With the fund group we do the due diligence for it's 50/50; i.e., the trader starts off with 50% of the profit incentive fees charged. We do have the advantage of charging higher fees for certain traders/programs because of our relationship with this particular group (between 25% and 35%), but...

A mentor for forming and marketing FX hedge funds

Having worked with financial institutions that fund traders, I think that the managed account model is beneficial at certain times. Some hedge funds like to invest with particular traders; not with funds. They want to be able to monitor more closely what's going on. On the other hand, the fund...
