SCALPERS: Criteria for cutting losses / profit-taking

When I am wrong I immediately get out, sometimes it is not even for a lose, if I buy a stock and it did not immediatley go up, then I am out, hopefully at the same price I bought it for. When you are wrong get out! This is what makes scalping work. I trade thinking about how much I can...

    SEC fees lower....

I think you are on to something! I have thought about that before, but I do not know where to take it. Maybe someone on this board will have an idea on how to form a lobbying group. I average close to a million shares a day and those sec fees add up! I pay them more than my fair share...

    SEC fees lower....

Over 1/2 a year ago when the sec doubled their fees, they said that they would lower them some time in the future, anybody have a clue as to when that might be? They are expensive!

Are all prop firms money sucking, greedy, evil, capitalist pigs?

Prop firms are here to provide access to the markets, as far as making money goes, they are here to do that as wel, a good prop firm will want you to make money so that you become a successsful trader and trade more. If you want to start trading as a professional, life is a lot easier at a...

If you want to make $250 a day trading, on 25k, which is chump change, then get serious about it, take your series seven, find a good prop firm that allows you to trade with 25K, sit beside a successful trade and copy what he is doing. $250 a day is not what you should focus on, you need...

    A no-brainer day!

I got slapped right from the beginning selling thousands of C and having it move 1/2 a point against me in the first big move. I really don't enjoy rallies in the least bit, they are so hard to trade. Days like this day I am jealous of position traders and for about .00012 of a second I wish...

POLL: What is your uncle point?

I try to keep my losses to two or three cents, not always possible though, if I am lossing that much then I get out right away, usually I try to get out as soon as it didn't go my way within a few seconds, thus trying to scratch. If I trade 4000 maximum position then 3 cents would only be $120.

ATTN: All professional/prop firm owners and managers.

Your questions are pretty much right on. An important question that you will want to ask is, "Do you have someone I can sit beside who will allow me to duplicate their technique?" This right now should be your main focus, all the other aspects of trading, software, rates, bullets, rent...

    Lazy Afternoon Trading -

minus the last two weeks, I find that the afternoons are the most boring and dangerous times to trade, I find usually one nice big full position trade around 3:15 est. other than that I usually end up making 150 trades that just cost me commission. If you are scalping the morning is where...

    any prop firms hiring?

Don's post about an Ivy Leaque education meaning crap holds more water than one might think. The market doesn't know who you are or where you went to school. We are all equal in the eyes of the market.

    any prop firms hiring?

If you are just starting out and you need capital, then what you have going doesn't seem like that bad of a situation,.....however you would be foolish to stay if you have to give any of your profits up! That is crazy to even give 3% of your profits up! If you become a good trade and make...
