What's the best method to keep yourself from overtrading?

Any thought on this subject are appreciated, even more useful are actual methods on how not to overtrade.

Turn off your computer(s) and give the wife a good time. Try
doing this at a prop firm! As far as actual methods, I will leave that up to you. :D
 
You have to make sure you're not just trading because you're bored. Sometimes I find myself placing a trade just to have some action. That is just plain stupid, and the winning percentage is definitely lower on boredom plays. That usually happen during midday. Stick to your strategy and don't trade unless it meets your parameters.
